Shawnee Hounds Hunt Club

Shawnee Hounds had its first formal blessing in 1978. Since then we have bred and maintained a pack of Penn-Marydel and cross-bred foxhounds.

Our kennels are located in Johnston City, IL and we enjoy ~16,000 acres of territory.

We had a wonderful social ride today! Eleven people made it out for a lovely time! Our next social ride is Sunday June 7th at 10am weather permitting, watch for updates.

We got a break in the rain today and took some hounds out for a little exercise! Ended up viewing a coyote and took our hounds to the line so the youngest members of our pack could learn more about what scents we like to run and what they should look for!
Next Sunday is our first Social Ride for June at 2pm!

Our Sunday Social Trail ride has been canceled. Trails are too muddy and we are taking 3 hounds, Journey, Kapow, and Gandalf to a hound show!
Wishing hounds and members safe travels and a fun show!!

Hounds have been going out for walks several times a week! Our “M” litter, at first, were going out on leash and then started being paired up with adult members of the pack! Now they are starting to walk with the group on their own and doing well!!

Sadly due to all the rain we’ve had over the past week and the rain tomorrow our Social Ride tomorrow has been canceled.
Our next event is our Summer Kick Off Bash on Saturday May 10th 10am-3pm!

Sunday is our first Social Ride of the summer scheduled for 2pm, watching weather in case of rain so we may need to cancel. Watch for updates and hope the rain stays away!

Here is our parking for our Summer Kick-Off Bash. For trucks and trailers, please park on the east side of the gravel road and leave the gravel square open for SUVs and sedans. The west side will be used for our food and activities!
