And this is one of the reasons why we always do a kitty check/head count before leavingng the house 😂 Cinnamon thinks Rocket’s kennel is her bed room and when we put Rocket up I guess Cinnamon was already in there and got locked up with Rocket 😂

Things you can do:
-Check the surface
-Walk early or at night
-Inspect your dogs paws everyday
-Keep paws moisturized
-Get your dog shoes/boots

With temps getting higher walks will look a little different over the summer! On days that temps are above 85 degrees Fahrenheit we likely won’t be able to walk unless it’s evening walks. Hot pavement can really harm paw pads, considering most of my walks are on pavement it would be irresponsible for me to risk harm to your dog exposing their sensitive feet to boiling hot blacktop/pavement for 30-60min walks. Not only does pavement get hot fast, it retains heat and stays hot for a long time.

I will be offering in home enrichment drop ins, where I come to your house and do potty breaks and playtime. I also provide exercise for your dogs brain working on basic training commands and puzzle games like hide and seek with healthy training treats.

I will still offer excursions like pup dates to pet friendly stores that have cool floors and AC, or shaded hiking trails, where we can still walk safely. I provide transportation for excursions.

Keep those pups safe this summer. Stay hydrated, stay mindful of hot ground on paws, always pack enough water for you AND your dog, and know the signs of heat exhaustion!
