This Great Dane is in need. Looking at her X-Rays it looks like she has a pyloric obstruction and needs surgery ASAP. She is a sweet and happy girl and a very good friend of the Thunderpups family. We let Xena sleep in the bed with us last night. We probably shouldn't have but she was obviously missing Heimdall so much Tuesday night and the little sad noises were heart breaking. She did so good though! She just went down to the foot of the bed between our feet, laid down, and stayed put the whole night. I only woke up once because I'd kicked the covers off my feet at some point and then I guess she'd shifted so she was on top of them so then when my feet god cold and I couldn't find the covers I had to wake up and pull them out from under Xena's bum but other than that - she's a wonderful snugglepuppy!

So Heimdall and Xena spent their last day together playing relentlessly, way more than on a normal day, almost like they knew it was their last day together - and once they were finally tuckered they snuggled up to nap together.

This morning his new mommy sent us updates and pictures. He slept great in the hotel room, no accidents or issues, he did amazing going through the TSA line at the airport but shortly afterward he started nose-booping her leg and barking at her repeatedly (not normal for him at all to bark unless he's asking to go outside) and a few minutes later she had an episode and realized he'd been trying to alert her (HE HASN'T EVEN BEEN TRAINED TO DO THAT YET but some dogs have been known to do it naturally - though it is SUPER rare).

Once in the waiting room he got his blankie out of his luggage and laid down to take a nap (he used to drag blankies around with him here too), and then after the flight the airline staff GAVE HIM WINGS! That's NOT normal at all!

I AM SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!!

We took Heimdall to his new mom today and my soul is broken. She's wonderful, don't get me wrong, and I know he's going to have this wonderful amazing life and do this really important job and I'm super proud of him - but I'm going to miss him so much it's like part of me left with him.

Heimdall got his 'Pilot's License' today so he is now cleared to fly and will be leaving us in just 3 days.

I've given baths to A LOT of dogs in my life. Dalmatians, Labs, MinPins, Boxers, Rotties, Danes and more. I've known some dogs who absolutely loved to swim in lakes and river and even pools but then HATED bath time. I've known other dogs who would willingly jump into the shower and play with the water but would fight and squirm to get out if you even hinted at reaching for the shampoo bottle. I've known dogs who would stand patiently and endure bath time without a fuss and didn't seem to much care one way or the other.

BUT I HAVE NEVER - until now - seen a dog LOUNGE on their side in the bath water and absolutely relish it the way Xena does. Just went to take a bath and she jumped in with me, laid down with her bum between my ankles and her chin on my leg and batted her little eyelashes up at me like 'Hey grannie, what a great idea! We should do this more often!'

I swear if she could she would have snapped her little paw pads at papaw and ordered him to bring us both some and cucumber slices. She's a total tom boy 24/7 until she hears that bath water running and suddenly she becomes a total 90210 QUEEN!

Xena had so much fun with her siblings at the dog park on Saturday. She was very prancy and princessy.

TOMORROW MORNING we will be heading to Horseman's park with the pups for their first visit to a dog park!!!

Little Xena has got the cutest little trot I've ever seen. When moving any faster than a walk she always moves both of her back legs together even if she's not going at a full run so it looks like she's skipping. I'm going to try to get it on video at the park tomorrow if I can.

She's just too cute though. The other night husband picked her up and put her in my lap and she just melted into my shoulder and went to sleep. She's sooooo lovey!
