Grandma Kitty's Cat Toys Specialize in handmade catnip toys, mats and machine embroidered pillow covers We are a family owned business located in beautiful Henderson, NV.

It all began with 1 small catnip plant that I planted from a local nursery. Well, after covering it with a bird cage so the neighborhood cats could still trim and not destroy it I soon ended up with a yard full. Yes, of catnip and sometimes at night a few party animals. I started making toys for my own cats, foster cats and shelter cats. My two youngest grandchildren nick named me Grandma Kitty an

d I thought what a wonderful name for our business. Here at Grandma Kitty's pets are family deserves the best. All of our toys are made and designed by me with the help of my family right down to our kitty toy testers. When I can; I use recycled material and you will see that feature in some of our toys such as Hearty Denim Mouse, Denim Fish and Sumo Kitty. Sumo is made from new fabric but does allow you to recycle a bag as part of the toy. Grandma Kitty believes in giving back to the community and volunteers 1 day a week for a local shelter. We also make toys and mats for local shelter cats when time permits . Everyone can make a difference. We have since added envelope pillow covers. Some are plain, embellished with sequin appliques or machine embroidered. Grandma also participates in local fundraisers for non profits. Kindness matters

This homeless man saved 30 dogs from drowning. On September 6, 2022, in Jackson, Mississippi, the Pearl River overflowed after record breaking rainfall. The city issued urgent evacuation orders. But Michael Harris, a 57 year old homeless man, didn’t hear them, he was sleeping on the third floor of an abandoned parking garage he’d been calling home.

He woke to sirens and water rushing below.

Instead of panicking, he listened.
A bark. Then another.

Dogs left behind in the chaos.

Michael waded through the waist high water, pulling terrified dogs into shopping carts and makeshift rafts. He tied leashes to his belt and guided them to dry spots inside the garage. Every hour, he went back out through flooded streets, into backyards and porches, following cries for help.

Three days later, rescue teams finally reached the garage. They found Michael surrounded by 30 dogs. Shivering, tired, but alive.

When asked why he didn’t leave, he simply said, “They would’ve stayed for me.”

Mountain lion spotted raising a bear cub in Yosemite. Wildlife cameras in Yosemite National Park recently captured something no one expected a mountain lion caring for a black bear cub.

Rangers first noticed the pair traveling together at night, the cub trotting at the lion’s side as if it had always belonged there. Over the weeks, the cameras showed more: the lion pausing to let the cub rest, sharing kills, and even circling protectively when other predators approached.
