Cute & Curly Kennels is a family owned and operated breeder and kennel for select poodle and doodle dog breeds offering the highest quality of care for our dogs and customers. We had recently become empty nesters when our youngest son moved to VA to complete his doctrine degree. We were unsure exactly how we would occupy our time and considered what we would do with this acreage. We considered may
be cows or chickens. We had lost our family pet of almost 20 years and decided that we would look into another dog for our family. We had just gained a precious grand daughter and wanted to make sure the pet would be a good fit for her. Our daughter recommended a golden doodle. Many of her friends with babies had doodles and the dog was a perfect fit with their little ones. We found a breeder in Dawson, AL and reached out for information. We ended up going to their home to put a deposit down on a female from a litter that was on the way. Our intention was to gain a female and secure a stud later down the road so that we could have one litter of pups and give one to our grand. We were so impressed by their set up and their story of how they got their kennels started that we stated thinking that maybe we wanted to get a male from a different litter. Long story short, we ended up with two golden doodles that were two weeks apart. We questioned our sanity in the beginning because lets be honest, having two puppies is like having two newborn babies. Within a few weeks we were so happy that we had made this decision. They became best of friends and we fell head over heels in love with them and their sweet personalities. It was also a blessing because when we worked they were not alone and had a play mate and companion. We were both working full time jobs and looking forward to retirement but knew we wanted to stay busy so we decided to build kennels in the spring of 2021. We completed our kennels in the summer of 2021 and added two AKC standard poodles to our program. We fell in love with the poodle breed. One of our poodles went home with our grand and has been the perfect fit for their family. She is so loving and patient with a baby. We later had the opportunity to add a maltipoo to our family. We were not looking but this baby had been in three homes in less than 12 weeks so we brought this beautiful boy home. This baby was accepted and loved by all of the golden doodles and poodles and stole our hearts. Swore I would never have a dog in the bed but ate those words quickly. He is the smartest boy and so loving and loyal. Loves everyone and so easy to train. So, here we are less than two years after our first addition to our family totally in love with all of our fur babies. We have just been blessed with our first litter of f2b golden doodles and are loving our decision to invest our love, time, and money to this beautiful breed. We would love to help you find your furever friend. We will however, screen our potential customers to ensure that our babies go to the very best homes. Please reach out to us with any questions. We are here to make sure that you are educated in choosing your addition to your family to make sure it is a perfect fit. We require a $250 deposit on our puppies and our babies will be ready to go home between 8-10 weeks. Our babies go home with our personal guide on raising poodles and doodles, sample of the dog food we recommend, and training bells. Each puppy will be health tested and receive their first round of vaccinations.
