Look at this beautiful ray of sunshine! ☀️
Meet Loki! He is a four year old pit/boxer mix and weighs about 60 pounds! He definitely gets along with female dogs but due to his last situation he is not keen to male dogs. He was adopted from us about a year ago, his last owners thought he was "guarding" the wife, but they sent us videos and it was 100% clear that the other dog was the problem. He was eventually returned due to problems with this dog in their home. Loki started out very dog friendly and was even a helper dog for puppies before he was adopted by his past owners. He came back a little different. He has developed some barrier frustration issues that get worse in the winter due to the limited space in the shelter, it would be so wonderful for him to not have to spend another winter here! If you're looking for a cute guy to cuddle up with this winter, Loki is your guy! ❄️ ☕

We can't wait for you to meet this special girl!
Introducing Roxy- She is 5.5 years old, weighs ~70 lbs, pit mix! 🐾
She was adopted from us as a puppy and brought back 5 years later. She has been with us for about 3 months now and really struggled with abandonment. It's clear she loves her people and would thrive if she had her own person. We think she was mainly an outdoor dog and was not socialized with other dogs so she gets really stressed out by dogs barking. We have taken her off property and she has done well with dog meets through the fence (not reactive, relaxed) but she is so stressed out here she does not do well with dog meets in our play yard. I think she could be dog friendly, just not in our shelter environment. She is a super cuddly girl and would thrive with someone who likes to be outside, will be patient, and give her the structure she needs! Here is another handsome boy who is also one of our long term residents!
Meet Rickey! Rickey is a 3 year old pit/mix and weigh 60lbs, what a ham! He has also been through basic manners training and is eligible for Canine Good Citizen Certification when he finds his furever 🐾 home! He is young and has ENERGY ! He would be an excellent trail dog! He is very friendly with humans, other dogs, and while he was being fostered he was around cats - he didn't seem to care/acknowledge the kitty however, it would be best to have socialization with any household kitties you have! With a proper introduction he could get along with a cat beautifully! He would be the perfect dog for a young couple or someone who likes to hike or run or is outdoors a lot. He was brought to us after being abandoned in a house that animal control had to break into to get him out, he was skin and bones, but now he is a thick healthy boy! Please help us find Rickey a forever home! He has been with us a long time and the longer he is here the harder it is on his mental health. Hey y'all! We have some very special faces to show today! We are looking for forever homes for some of our long term rescues. Meet Tav 🐾- He is a black and tan hound, somewhere around 2-3 years old, and weighs 50 lbs-- such a handsome man! This poor guy was dumped out in front of the shelter, he is extremely scared of men so he would do better in a female household! He was in a foster home for about 4 days during the storm and showed signs of being house trained, however he definitely has a kidney issue so he pees very frequently. A dog-door would be best for him. He is also nervous when inside, but will eventually lay down. He is good with most dogs! If they are friendly he is friendly back, however if they are nervous he gets nervous as well. Tav's ideal home would be a family of women, who are active and willing to be patient with him as he is very timid at first, if you would like to schedule a play date we would love for you to meet this very special boy! Please spread the word and share all around, Tav is available for adoption in all the states!

Yesterday was a long but successful day.

We did our typical grounds work, but the biggest thing we did was have our animal rescue department locate homes for over ONE HUNDRED displaced animals!!! We cannot thank you all enough for all of the love and support you are showing to Operation Wolf. Please keep sharing posts in order to get the word out. We were only able to make all of this happen because of you guys spreading the word.

We were able to help out a family of 6 locate diapers, water, and toilet paper as well.

We also located supplies for a distribution hub in Swannanoa that really needed some help. Those drops will be happening today!

There is still so much to be done and so many families to help. If you would like to donate items or money towards specific needs, or volunteer, please let us know! If you have any needs at all, message us, Brittney Conner, or Summer Morris and we will do everything we can to help you!
