Both are safe, routine procedures when performed by an experienced veterinarian, and both offer lifelong health and behavioral benefits for your Havanese.

A common question we hear is, “When should I do it?”

• 💗 Females: Many veterinarians recommend spaying before the first heat, often around 8–9 months of age, although the best timing depends on your puppy and your veterinarian’s recommendations.

• 💙 Males: Neutering can often be performed a little earlier, though some owners choose to wait until they’re closer to physical maturity.

Every Havanese is different, so the right timing should always be discussed with your veterinarian.

Oh my goodness… the chaos is REAL! 🤣🐾 These 4 are making sure we soak up every last second of puppy fun before they head off on their next adventures.
Gronk flies home on Saturday ✈️💙 and Poppy heads to her forever home on Sunday 🌸🏡. It’s such a bittersweet week—our hearts are so full, and we’re cherishing every cuddle, zoomie, and silly moment while we still can. 🥹💕
Ofc we are keeping Keke so we still get to keep that puppy love going 🫶🏻☺️🩷
