Thank you for the name suggestions and support toward their supplies and vet bills! I’m going with an animal theme for them. We have Lynx (mom), Panda (Tux male), Joey (tabby male), Bear (black male), and Fawn (tortie female). Fawn is the only kitten that doesn’t have any health problems. Panda has improved a lot since he was first brought in. His legs are almost completely straight now. Bear is also doing better. Joey is the only one who has been about the same but he gets around really well. Mom has some heart problems and needs to go see a cardiologist. The cost of that visit alone is expected to be about $800-900. I haven’t found a rescue to help them yet so we could really use any support toward their vetting. *Donations needed* I picked up this very sick little kitten on Monday. She was living under a trailer home and would’ve likely not made it another day. She needs to have her eye removed and also got a bunch of things done at the vet. She was covered in fleas and her fur was full of fly eggs. It was so bad her bath water was completely red from all the flea dirt. She is doing a little better but is still sick. I need to raise money for her and the special needs litter I have to cover their vet bills. They deserve the best chance they can get. I’ve linked a go-fund-me and other ways to donate in my bio. Daisy and her brother, Eggsy, are playing a lot more and starting on big kitten activities. Willow has finally started eating wet food and they are also interested in it too. They still only have the ulcers from calicivirus and Willow’s breathing has improved slowly but surely the last couple of days. I have some new medications to try out for her to see if that can help bring things back to normal for her. Things are still guarded for them since they are so tiny but I am hoping everyone makes a full recovery. After many vet visits Willow and the kittens finally have a definitive diagnosis. They unfortunately have calicivirus and a mycoplasma infection. I’ve been thankful to not have had to deal with calicivirus yet but I knew eventually I would run into it. Thankfully the mycoplasma is relatively straight forward and easy to treat. There is no treatment for calicivirus other than supportive care. They are on pretty much all the supportive care possible. Willow had a slight decline a couple of days ago but I’ve since started albuterol in her nebulizer and that has helped with keeping her breathing normal. Willow has finally started eating wet food which has been great to boost her calories and the little nuggets have also shown some interest in wet food too. They have been bottle feeding and eating a ton despite their ulcers in their mouth. As you can see Willow is set on being a menance despite it (They are still working on using the litter box so ignore the pee pads. They get changed multiple times a day 😅) At only 4 weeks old she bit the vet for trying to take a temp and is determined to be 100% sass for all her treatments 🤦🏼♀️ Thankfully the other kittens at home have not had any symptoms and have been turning into chunks. Rose, Chase, and Chloe did start feeling down likely triggered by the stress of being moved. They are older so I’m hoping the virus can run it’s course quickly so they can get back to causing trouble. The other older kittens I have will not be moved so I’m hoping keeping their stress low and doing preventative supportive care can help prevent them from having symptoms. For those that may have missed my post I started working with Anicira a few weeks ago to do TNR on a larger scale so I’ve been running into a lot more cats that need help. I went out to a problem area yesterday where there are an estimated 200+ cats/kittens that need help. 100% of all of those cats there are because of irresponsible owners that either abandoned their cats or don’t care that their cats aren’t fixed even though they go outside. It really only takes 1 pregnant female to end up with hundreds of cats in an area in a short amount of time. I found these poor kittens with their mom hanging out around a car. Some of the kittens have such severe eye infections that their eyes are literally bulging and hanging out of their head. That is incredibly painful and I can’t imagine how they feel. I am setting up traps and I really hope they will go for it to get the medical care they desperately need. I really need to find fosters around here so I can take them in. I have a really sweet mom with kittens, friendly kittens, and more nervous kittens that I would love to find a foster for. I have a bunch of adoptions but that isn’t until this weekend.
