We had a great 4th of July holiday and we were completely full. Several dogs went home yesterday. So my plan today was to wash out, sanitize, and mop. I couldn't find my broom anywhere. I swept yesterday, so it should have been around.

I thought my kids probably borrowed it. I tracked down both of them and they said they didn't. So I thought Casey borrowed it - but that would be pretty unusual. He came back from checking cattle and said he hasn't seen or used it. After a hunt all around the farm, I lost my ambition. I get back to the kennel building for afternoon turnouts and I'm looking around and getting frustrated. At this point, I'm pretty sure someone borrowed it. Because it has to be someone else's fault 🤷‍♀️

I'm picking up mats to rinse off and a dog bed to wash. I go into another kennel to pick up a toy. And I find it...Right where I put it. So well hidden 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

This evening's biggest problem - so many dogs to pet and only two hands. But I gave it my best shot and the dogs were patient enough to wait in line. We have had a great weekend with our wonderful boarding guests.

We are so thankful for our customers who share their very loved companions with us ❤️

Happy Independence Day! Most of these guys and gals are visiting because their folks are on vacation. However, some of them have bad anxiety from fireworks. I'm happy to say that all are comfortable, happy, and have no idea that today is the 4th ❤️

We have been so blessed by great boarding guests! When we did our kennel rebuild, I scheduled extra time for our project. We had some weather delays and ended up rushing to get usable kennels in place. Then dogs started coming in and I have been full ever since. This weekend, I found myself with only a few guests and we took the opportunity to finish the outside gates on the south side. We had panels in place, but they overlapped each other and they were difficult to clean. All the dogs on the south side had to go out at the same time. So now we are installing gates that will look like our inside gates that Casey built. I'm so excited for the finished product. It's going to look amazing!

This little puppy found his way out of his pen and rough-housed all morning long before he crashed. Payson buried him in rocks and the puppy never even knew. Building kennels is a tough job when you are 6 weeks old and 4 legged 😂

Fun fact about Kipp - she puts a toy in her mouth when she knows she shouldn't bite. Teaching puppies to behave is a hard job, but Kipp is up for it tonight 😂

We have working bred retriever pups out of Candy and by Jeff Nance 's Brody. These pups will have tons of drive! Pedigrees posted in comments. These are not bred to be family pets, though they can definitely multitask. They are looking for active, water-loving homes. They are 5 weeks old. They will stay here until they are 8 weeks old, but you are welcome to come out and pick your pup. Pictures coming soon. 4 black males and 2 black females available. Message me for more information.

Evenings like this remind me of how much dogs impact our life. They bring so much joy to my family. Each one of them has a unique personality. I have to say, I really enjoy the time we spend at the lake with the retrievers. They just love life and love water and love a good game of fetch. They also love us ❤️

God knew what he was doing when he created dogs. He knew we needed loyal and forgiving friends who would teach us many life lessons over the course of our existence. I think he nailed it! We had a great evening with Man's best friends tonight at Lake Palo Duro ❤️
