We have started preparing for weaning for a few weeks now by taking Sam to hand grazed while Su stays in the lot or stall. Yesterday was the first time I took Su away from Sam for our first ride together. I rode in the outdoor so they could see each other and still communicate. You can hear Sam calling for Su and her answering him back. By then end of our ride he was standing in the lot closest to the herds lot with Aspen standing directly across in his lot from Sam as close to the fence as he could get ๐Ÿคญ When we move them to our land they will be one herd physically. I have gone thru a million scenarios and ways to acclimate them in my brain. Yesterday I realized they already know they are one and we've been preparing for this the same as we've already been preparing for weaning in a few months time. The time spent in the arena with Su and Sam in their foaling stall already allowed Su a safe space to introduce Sam. Walking each horse to the foaling lot fence and realizing su doesn't even come check on Sam while he's nosing with the big horse is her showing her trust in them. The time Su spent on lot with each of the herd established a physical bond that has grown into an energetic one, Sam has only had an energetic connection with the herd now he's ready to build that physical bond as well. It's beautiful how in life we are going thru circumstances that challenge us and we may not understand but then something shifts and suddenly all those circumstances can clearly be seen as preparation!
The herd and I send you beautiful Reiki blessings for faith in the process as you experience your own transition journeys in life. May you have faith in the knowledge that the preparation may be confusing but that clarity always comes when the transformation occurs ๐Ÿ’œ

Nick and I have been putting in 14-16 hour days between getting the land ready to move to, our herds daily care, and our businesses. Yesterday I left early to go put my first ride on Su. I ended up riding all three of my mares! It was the most important hours I've taken in the last few weeks. Riding is so therapeutic for me. My mind clears, my energy centers and as soon as my horse and I start to move as one any heaviness I've been holding lifts. I have very different mares and each one gives me exactly what I need in their own way๐Ÿ’œ

We are so grateful to have not just a business relationship but a friendship with the owners of Midwest Recovery Service. They have hauled our hay feeder twice soon to be three times, our vehicles work and personal so many times, our tractor and now our fifth wheel! We've never owned a camper let alone lived in one. So here's to another new part of the adventure that is homesteading! One step closer to bringing all aspects of our lives to the same place๐Ÿ’œ

Our precious Sam is 8 weeks old today! He has gotten so big and is always so happy to see me. It won't be long and he will be out on the pasture with the herd at the new homestead ๐Ÿ’œ

The area around the barn is the most congested with trash and debris from when the squatters were on the property. They built a shelter behind the barn at one point and started a fire that spread across the front pasture. They may have left the property but their presence is still very evident. We've started the external clean up around the barn. As I sorted and bagged up the left behind mess I felt such a wave of sadness. That sadness quickly was replaced by gratitude! I am so thankful we are helping this beautiful place heal by cleaning the sadness left behind, planting flowers in places where there was decay, and bringing the beautiful energy of my herd and Reiki practice to thrive on our blessed land! I'm grateful for this part of the land's story. Addiction recovery is a big part of my practice these areas are a reminder of that recovery journey every road has a beginning but the path can change so quickly if you just put on the gloves and clear out the debris! I can't wait to update with the transformation that takes place over the weekend. We are claiming our land powerfully with every piece we clear, every tree removed and every inch mowed. For all we do we do with Reiki love๐Ÿ’œ

I pulled up yesterday to find Nick had cleared a bunch of saplings from the north pasture. He was able to remove the swamp filled boat, other old boat trailer and the old swing set as well. I'm absolutely amazed at how much pasture space this opens up for the herd๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ™Œ
