🚨A Quick but Important Message 🚨

We want to take a moment to talk about something that has a big impact on small businesses like ours: no shows and last minute cancellations.

When an appointment is missed without notice, it’s more than just an empty slot. It’s lost time that could have been given to another client in need of grooming—and lost income that helps keep our doors open, our bills paid, and our service running smoothly.

To help us serve all of our wonderful clients better, we have a No Show Policy in place:

⏰ If you are more than 15 minutes late or do not show up for your appointment:
💳 A $25 no show fee will be required before rebooking. 3 recorded no shows will result in us refusing future services.
🚫 Online booking will be disabled for your account until the fee is paid.

We totally understand that life happens—if you ever need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice so we can adjust accordingly and work our way through the waitlist. Your cooperation and respect helps us care for as many clients as possible. 🐶💕

Hey S2W Fam!

Just wanted to stop by to keep you as up to date about availability as possible.

As of right now, July 22nd is our first weekday opening, and July 26th at 10AM is our first Saturday opening. (August 9th is the next one after that)

You guys have been amazing with prebooking since our last post! Please make sure you are receiving your confirmation texts, and message us if you don’t get one. We are doing our best to get everyone in, in a timely manner 🫶🏼🐾

Hey S2W Fam!

🌟 We are officially booked until the second week of July! 🐶✂️

While it’s a great problem to have (thank you all for the love and support! 💛), it can be a little stressful when we can’t get your pup in on the dates you’re hoping for.

To help avoid the scramble, we kindly ask that you prebook your next appointment at pickup whenever possible. That way, your pup stays on schedule and we can keep our days running smoothly (and our stress levels down 😅).

As always, we’re so grateful for every wagging tail that walks through our doors. Thank you for being the best part of Shaggy 2 Waggy! 🐾💕

A few clients have asked me about appropriate grooming tools for their pets inbetween grooms so here are some of my favorites:

For the vast majority of dogs that get haircuts a slicker brush (I use the Chris Christensen slicker pictured below) and a Greyhound comb are the best tools to ensure you are getting all of the way down to the skin. Use the slicker brush first (pro tip: if it sounds like pulling apart Velcro- KEEP BRUSHING)
Follow up with the comb -if it doesn’t easily slide through the coat go back to the slicker brush.

For most bath dogs a rubber curry comb (like the Zoom Groom) is perfect! It will help remove loose undercoat without damaging the top coat.

Brushing on all coat types should be done twice per week AT MINIMUM. Anytime your dog gets wet, they should be thoroughly brushed out once they are dry.

We are a Humanity Before Vanity Salon- which means we will not brush out extensive matting. I promise your dogs coat WILL grow back 😉

Here is the grooming schedule I recommend for your pets based on coat length:

If they get a “shave down” ( a 5f or 7f haircut all over) : every 8 weeks
Medium length ( 3/8”-5/8” all over): every 6-8 weeks depending on coat type.
Long length (3/4” or longer): every 4-6 weeks
Double coated dogs like Pomeranians, Corgis, Long Haired Chihuahuas, etc should be groomed every 4-6 weeks to maintain undercoat

Bath dogs: every 4 weeks

If your dog is a summer swimmer, they may require a shorter or more frequent haircut.
