According to us, watching IS helping! Go Master Dale, go! 😂🚙 💨 💨
Thanks for everyone for coming to lend a hand this morning. We plan to do the same tomorrow for the last touches before Sunday’s race!
Calling all members…
We are in need of volunteers tomorrow (Friday April 19) to pull together last minute items for our point to point races.
Please meet at the Morven Park race track at 10:00 am if you can help. This event is a huge undertaking and we rely on volunteer help to make it a success for the club.
MORVEN PARKLEESBURG, VAPost Time: NOON Please refer to VSA and USPR general rules. Ponies must be at least 5 years old. Riders are to not have had their 16th birthday as of January 1st. Dear Volunteers,
Thanks as always for your help with putting on the Races and helping on the course.
Please plan if you are able to meet at Morven Park this Saturday, 4/13, at 9AM. Please bring work gloves. Major tasks to be completed will be: setting out t-posts, stringing rope inside the course, and laying out the paddock.
Thank you in advance for your volunteerism and support!
Dear All,
As everyone is aware, the date of our annual Hunt Point to Point Races at Morven Park is fast approaching! We will need assistance doing work on the race course on the following dates, as well as on the date of the Races, April 21. As in the past, the Races are being held at Morven Park Equestrian Center, 41580 Sunday Morning Ln., Leesburg, VA 20176.
Passes are still available for sale at www.loudounraces.com. Please encourage friends and family to purchase passes. Rail spots and Terrace Box spaces are still available.
We will be working on the course on April 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 (Race Day), and 22 (clean up). Work times are TBD, but likely 9 or 10am most mornings. Please bring work gloves. The more help, the quicker this process goes.
Additionally, we will need help on the day of the Races with the following: 1) golf cart drivers, 2) direction/wayfinding, and 3) Hospitality Tent. These will begin around 10am on the day of the Races and run until roughly 4pm.
Please email or text Carroll at [email protected], 443-690-4041, to indicate where you can help on those days and on the day of the Races.
Please remember that the Point to Point is a significant fundraiser for the Hunts, usually the largest each season, and plays a huge role in the annual budget. The Races are the reason the Hunt is able to keep our membership dues accessible for everyone. Please be sure you can assist on the day of the Races in some capacity.
Dear Subscribers and Friends -
All is well at the Loudoun Fairfax and Loudoun Hunts!
We are excited to announce that Jeff Woodall will carry the horn beginning in May. Jeff has been huntsman for 4 years with Old Dominion, a year as first whipper-in for Keswick, and most recently 4 years as huntsman at Rappahannock.
Please watch for notice of a reception to introduce Jeff.
Josh Warren is returning home to Wales after a successful hunting season. We sincerely thank him for this past year, and wish him, Kate, and Lily success in his new position.
Our next big event is the Loudoun Point-to-Point races on April 21 at Morven Park. We look forward to seeing you there, and please consider volunteering some time on the set up and take down days, April 19, 20, and 22. Announcements will be made.
Finally, stay tuned for our summer weekly trail rides, and, as we near the cubbing season in September, the opportunity to school horses and riders across our wonderful territory.

Few things are better than jumping into bed with fresh sheets on. Our hounds clearly agree on new bedding day! 🐶 😴 🛌
We really soaked up this humidity-less weekend! Saturday AM we enjoyed a beautiful morning with mounted hound exercise and today we welcomed 23 riders on our get ready to hunt trail ride. Saturday, August 26th, we will have mounted hound exercise at 7:30 (we know it’s early but think of it as practice for cubbing season! 😉) from Overbrook. We will have a group that moves out with Josh and hounds and a second walking-only group. We will have a potluck breakfast at 9 AM upon return. Even if you can’t ride, we welcome all to the breakfast!
Jumping into this rainy weekend like… We enjoyed a beautiful Friday morning yesterday in the company of many new friends, great sport thanks to Neil, and an exciting first field led by Ann and Astrid!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the first of our three “Get Ready to Hunt” jump schooling sessions. Today was our low jumpers for green horses/riders. Everyone had a great time and left with smiles! Thank you to Meagan Vanderveldt for her guidance and instruction. Our next session is Friday August 19th for jumps over 2’3” and for working on hunt drills such as reverse field, leaving and returning to the field and horse to horse spacing. Following that is our final low jumpers session on Wednesday August 24th. We have a few remaining spots in both sessions. For more information please message us or email at: [email protected]
