In the Spirit of the Season, We would love to feature a local shelter that is desperately looking for donations! Don't have money to give? Maybe offer to help transport some of these babies? Perhaps a foster home for the holidays for a pet waiting for their forever home?

With Christmas time upon us, a common tradition is to bring plants inside! Many of these Christmas plants can be toxic to our furry friends! Here is a comprehensive list worth keeping close in case your furbaby gets ahold of plant!

ASPCA has created a database of plants and their toxicity levels and effects!

Our handy list contains plants that have been reported as having systemic effects on animals and/or intense effects on the gastrointestinal tract.

The best cat ever, was half price adoption through the Houston SPCA because she was over 3 which was what they were counting as a senior. I shared my life with her for 10 years and she was the best clearance kitty ever. Rode in the car like a dog and loved to go on trips. The advantage was that she already had her personality. I knew what I was getting and she was already out of the crazy kitten phase. Consider an older pet, with a senior you will be giving them a true happy ending to possibly rough story or maybe a happy ending to a story that started good but had a plot twist. Older cats are the best!

November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month. If you're looking to add a cat to your home or know of a senior cat that needs a home, consider adopting an older one. Reach out to your local veterinary practice as they most likely have a relationship with local animal shelters or know of a senior cat that needs a great home.
