🏡 August 15th is National Check the Chip Day AND International Homeless Animals' Day. ❤️🐾
These two observances share an important message:
Every pet deserves a safe way home.
A microchip is one of the best ways to help reunite lost pets with their families—but only if the information connected to that chip is accurate and up to date.
📌 Here's a quick checklist:
✔ Is your pet microchipped?
✔ Have you updated your phone number if it has changed?
✔ Is your current address listed?
✔ Is your emergency contact still correct?
✔ Have you ever had your pet's microchip scanned to make sure it's working?
Many people don't realize that while microchips don't "go bad," it's still a good idea to have them scanned during routine veterinary visits to confirm they can be detected and to verify that your contact information is current.
Today is also International Homeless Animals' Day, reminding us that every act of responsible pet ownership can make a difference.
❤️ You can help by:
🐾 Microchipping your pets
🐾 Keeping identification tags on their collars
🐾 Spaying and neutering your pets
🐾 Keeping vaccinations current
🐾 Adopting when you're able
🐾 Supporting your local shelters and rescue organizations
🐾 Being kind to every animal you meet
A tiny microchip can make a life-changing difference when a beloved pet becomes lost.
If your pet isn't microchipped—or if you'd like us to scan their chip to make sure everything is working properly—we're happy to help.
