Well… I realized I forgot to properly introduce one very special little girl. 💛🌴

Meet Empire’s Keepin’ It Tropical “Aruba”—our keeper from the Summer Vacation litter, co-bred with Twister MAS.

From the very beginning, Aruba has been one that kept catching my eye. She combines so much of what we strive to produce: a sweet, confident temperament, sound balanced structure, and the promise of an exciting future. We can’t wait to watch her mature and see where her journey takes her, both in and out of the show ring. Pictures really don’t do her justice 🤭

I’m incredibly excited to have this girl staying here at Empire and are so thankful to Twister MAS for partnering with me on this special litter.

We have some other very exciting news to share! 🎉

This past weekend, Venus officially completed her AKC Championship! She earned Winners Bitch and Best of Winners on Saturday to finish in style, and I couldn’t be prouder of this special girl. Thank you to all the judges who found her!

With her championship complete, we’re excited to announce that the plan is for Venus to have her very first litter this fall! 🍂

We can’t wait to share more updates as we get closer. We have high hopes for this litter and are excited for what’s ahead!

Health testing has always been one of the most important parts of my breeding program. While titles showcase a dog’s structure and temperament, health testing helps ensure we’re making informed breeding decisions with the long-term health of the breed in mind.

One goal I’ve set for myself this year is to earn OFA CHIC numbers on every breeding-age dog in my program.

A CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number is awarded to dogs that complete all of the health screenings recommended for their breed and have those results recorded with OFA. A CHIC number doesn’t mean every result is “perfect”—rather, it demonstrates transparency and a commitment to completing and publicly sharing the recommended testing so breeders and puppy buyers can make informed decisions.

For Miniature American Shepherds, responsible breeding goes far beyond pedigrees and pretty pictures. It means investing in the health of every generation and being open about the results.

I’m proud to continue working toward this goal and look forward to checking off more CHIC numbers throughout the year. Every completed health test is another step toward preserving and improving this incredible breed.

Because responsible breeding starts long before puppies are born. ❤️ Today Lux received her CHIC # and we are actively working on submitting more testing to OFA to wrap up some of the other girls!
