And that’s a wrap!!!! Fair 2026 is in the books.

Such a fun time watching all these kiddos show their projects, being with friends while making new friends!

The open show was today and while we didn’t walk away with BOB, I couldn’t be any happier for Miss Emma and her girl Bluey, that came from KC’s Cottontails, winning it!!! She even got an honorable mention in the Best In Show class!

It was the neatest thing to see our stock on the table, but with different families this year, in the running for BOB!! All winning 1st place ribbons today!! Nice work from all families!! ☺️ ❤️

And it’s always a good time showing with my sister! Nice job on your standard Rex today!!!

Showmanship was today!!! This is not Hannah’s strong suit but she was brave and got it done! 👏 🍀

🏆 All of Hannah’s lionheads placed first this year at fair!

Jr tort doe - 1st and BOV and BOB
Jr tort buck- 1st
Sr black doe- 1st and BOV
Sr tort buck- 1st and BOSB

Jr black standard Rex- 1st and BOV 4th place over all

Single homegrown- 5th place with her Champagne D’Argent doe. Considering her breed and what she was up against we are very happy with that!!

Market pen of 3- didn’t make a placing but made weight and had good comments from the judge!

This little guy did not make the cut for fair this year so he is available!!!! He is double maned but as you can see that skirting just isn’t there to be competitive on the show table.

When I say that I don’t think a rabbit will be competitive on the show table, that’s exactly what I mean.

Having said this, I think he has some nice qualities about him. He poses well and upright naturally, has a nice top line and small wide based ears and I think that when paired with the right doe (maybe too much wool, maybe not as compact built as he is and so on) he could produce show quality offspring.

Sometimes that’s what breeding programs are all about. Pairing rabbits to get that end goal rabbit. In my opinion. Maybe I’m wrong.

This also means daily weight checks, plenty of feed, water, and checking them over!
