It’s going to be a cold one tonight in SC so the girls needed some extra nutrients to keep their bodies warm. We whipped up some scrambled eggs, ham, corn, oregano and chia seeds with some leftover corn tortillas to give them a boost before bed.

Brought the girls some corn to snack on and I’m thankful to only see a tiny bit of snow in their run…looks like all the winterizing we did paid off! They are dry and warm!  ❄️

With the expected snow/ice tonight, along with some of the older girls going through a hard molt, it’s important that the girls get the extra calcium, protein and nutrients they need so their bodies don’t pull these things from their bones and put stress on their organs. In the mix today…eggs (the best protein source) egg shells (calcium) chia seeds (omegas) fresh parsley & carrots!

After thinking none of our spring babies were olive eggers after all 😢 Look what Santa (Actually “Olive”) our Black Amerucana/Black Copper Marans Mix left for me in the nest box!!! 💚
