This handsome boy is celebrating another lap around the sun today! ☀️🥳 Arizona is one of our amazing special needs cats. He has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), a condition that affects his coordination, but he’s never let it slow him down. He’s playful, resilient, and full of love—and we think that makes him even more special. 💛

Arizona is still searching for a foster or adoptive home where he can be celebrated and supported every day. Could that be you? 🏡

Meet Kali 🩵

This 5-month-old Husky mix is all kinds of stunning — with her black and cream coat and piercing blue eyes, she turns heads everywhere she goes. 😍

Kali is playful, smart, and full of that classic puppy energy. She’s just starting to settle into shelter life, so we’re still learning more about her preferences with other animals or kiddos — but as always, a meet-and-greet is the best way to see if it’s a match!

She’s got so much love to give, and with a face like that, we don’t think she’ll be here long! 💫

HSWC is excited to announce that we our offering $25 cat neuters for a limited time! The special pricing includes the surgical procedure, Rabies vaccine, and ear mite check. Ear tipping is also available upon request.

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible 6th grade class at Rostraver Elementary for organizing a donation drive for our shelter from May 1st to May 21st! 🐾📚💛

Thanks to your hard work and the generosity of your school community, we received an amazing haul of supplies to help care for our animals. 📦💞 From food bowls to laundry detergent, every item will make a difference for pets waiting for their forever homes. 🏡

🌟 Meet the newest stars of HSWC! 🐾

These wonderfully diverse pups are ready to find their forever homes—and we’re so ready to help them get there. 🏡

First up is Quinn, a curious bluetick hound mix with a nose for adventure. 💙 Next is Gracie, our snaggle-toothed sweetheart and certified heart-melter. 🥰 And last but never least is Emmy, a sleek black beauty with energy to spare and a love for zoomies. 🐕‍🦺💨

We’ll be sharing more about their personalities this week (unless they find their families first—fingers crossed!), so stay tuned as we highlight what makes each of them shine! ✨

Foster Highlight: Leia ✨

If you’ve been following us for a while, or have ever driven by the shelter and seen a dog going wild in the yard, you know who Leia is. 👑

Leia has been spending a lot of time *outside* of the shelter lately, exploring new environments like Twin Lakes 🌲, enjoying the sights of a car ride 🚗, and connecting with a calmer version of herself! 😌🧘‍♀️

It’s a side we don’t always get to see within the shelter. ❤️‍🩹 Like many dogs, Leia finds kennel life stressful, and the busy, noisy surroundings can make it hard for her true personality to shine. But out in the real world? She’s careful, thoughtful, and simply lovely to be around! 💕

💡 We truly believe that Leia’s chances of finding her forever home would grow stronger in a calm, nurturing foster home environment— where she can feel safe and continue to blossom. 🌸🌷
