This is Riley, a senior golden retriever, who I did pet sitting drop-in visits and overnight stays for. Riley is very afraid of noises, even the pop of a soda can. One night, someone was letting off fireworks and Riley ran into the closet and didn’t come out until morning. Even though he stayed in there, I pet him and held him until the fireworks had ended and then a little longer. By the end of our cuddles, he felt a lot more comfortable and was wagging his tail. Hot weather is here! To protect your dog’s paws, use the 5-second rule, put the back of your hand on the pavement and if it’s hot within 5 seconds, the pavement is too hot to walk your dog on.

Harley is always happy to see us!

She enjoys 1-hour long pet sitting drop-in visits and her favorite part is getting chest scratches for as long as possible.

In between potty breaks and feeding for our last visit, she got scratches for 45 minutes. I had to keep switching arms because they kept getting tired!
