This is Riley, a senior golden retriever, who I did pet sitting drop-in visits and overnight stays for. Riley is very afraid of noises, even the pop of a soda can. One night, someone was letting off fireworks and Riley ran into the closet and didn’t come out until morning. Even though he stayed in there, I pet him and held him until the fireworks had ended and then a little longer. By the end of our cuddles, he felt a lot more comfortable and was wagging his tail.
