Meet newcomers Taco & Salsa! 🌮

These siblings have traveled all the way from Mississippi to Greensboro, GA! They’ve spent their whole lives together (but they don’t have to be adopted as a pair). At first, they can be a little shy — but once they learn to trust, their loving and playful sides shine through. They’re absolutely loving being outdoors, something they never got to enjoy before!

Join us in Union Point from 10AM-12PM for a FREE pet vaccine & microchip clinic.

🐾 Dogs and Cats Only (limit 3 pets per household)

💉 We will be providing vaccines and microchips. We will NOT be providing spay/neuter or any other medical services.

⚠️ Animals must be restrained: on leashes or in carriers.

☝️ First Come, First Served: No appointments are available. Supplies are limited, so pets will be seen in the order they arrive.

📍PLEASE NOTE: The event is located at the Union Point Fire Department; this clinic is not being held at the LOHS shelter.

We’re such a sucker for Sonya and her beautiful green eyes! 💚 This girl has the absolute sweetest personality, and she even loves to give you hugs, where she’ll stand and put her paws around your shoulders!

Come visit her at LOHS (you’ll likely find her lounging in our catio) and see for yourself!

LOHS (and the catio) are open to the public Tuesday-Saturday 11-3 or by appointment.

FOR ONE DAY ONLY: Join us this Saturday for a festive photo session with Santa from 10AM-2PM at Harbor Club! Dogs, cats, and the whole family are welcome! 🎄

No signup needed! Cost is $20/session; cash or credit card accepted. Photos by photographer Leigh Lofgren will be emailed to you. All proceeds will benefit Lake Oconee Humane Society!

We are dedicated to bringing people and adoptable animals together for lifelong relationships through rescue and adoption. We are committed to reducing animal over population in our community through public outreach and low/no cost spay/neuter programs.

We help needy families feed and care for their pets, serve as advocates for animals and their people, and educate the public about compassion and responsibility toward all animals. Our adoption center is a no-kill facility where all incoming animals accepted are evaluated, medically treated and rehabilitated when needed. ORHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that does not receive any government funding and relies on the goodwill and generosity of individuals and corporations.
