Time can make a good horse. šŸ•°ļø

Not all horses are born trained, and some need more exposure and time which is perfectly fine! They can make amazing, if not better horses when you stick the time into them!

When they are started slow and at their pace, have the right foundation and miles put on, they will let you know when it’s go time and you can sit back and enjoy what you have made.

āļø My biggest tip I can give to all the girls that are starting young horses, is don’t make the mistake of running them right away. Put some time in slow work so you have something to go back to and work on when there is a problem. And these are BABIES we are sending out into these crazy crowds! Rodeo is not for the weak, and it takes a damn good horse to do it.

It’s cool to see how close these two are, they literally take turns beating each other and it’s so fun to have my own competition šŸ˜† Both of these runs won money šŸ”„

Sometimes you gotta take a step back and realize this is their first time on this earth too šŸ’• 2024 - 2026

I haven’t posted much lately, I’ve been so busy with my tack business, sponsors, the horses, you name it.

So for my first post of 2026, I’d like to say this.

It’s the year of the horse! Our year! Let’s make it happen (we say that every year, don’t we?) Well, your biggest supporter is yourself, so have a great year and reach for the sky!

I started making goals in 2023 to help shape my year and put it to use, life is short so live it!

āļø 2023- get to be known a little in the horse industry
-I made social media platforms, went to alot of shows, socialized (which was out of my comfort zone), ect.
-Let my finished gelding go and got a 2 year old mare (Cash) to train and make my future on

āļø 2024- try new things
-I brought horses to the Midwest horse fair
-I rode dressage
-Ran Dax in his first rodeo
-Carried the flag at multiple shows for the National Anthem
-Ran sponsor flags in a PRCA rodeo
-Entered a queen competition

āļø 2025- floater/learning year, couldn’t think of a goal to focus on
-Cash got some good exposure in places with different types of footing, setups ect.
-I wasn’t going for first, I was going for fun and learned how to really just enjoy the sport
-Did a makeover on a kill pen gelding
-Graduated, learned alot from my FFA officer position and classes.
-started 2 small businesses
-learned about sponsorships
-got 2 trailers, and a traveling parter (Cinch)

āļø 2026- your dreams don’t have to be in the air, get out there and make them happen!
-Became a WPRA member
-Got some great people/companies behind me as support and a community
-Lets rodeo!

I got Lux as a skinny, scared, abused little horse that hadn’t hardly had a halter on. Over these months, he’s learned that people aren’t out to hurt him, he’s trusted me and found his person that makes him feel safe. We’ve had a very fun year (his first year ā€œbeing able to be a horseā€), we did some horse shows, fairs, parades, drill team, the National Anthem, and lots more! We pulled my sister around in the snow for some fun last week, videos in comments

Growth is in the eye of the beholder. So many times I had second thoughts about Cash not wanting to run. She just took her time with everything, was the BEST laid back 2-3 year old I could have asked for, but she had no want for speed. Through the course of months doing some speed drills and hauling, she suddenly got the flame in her heart to run and no one is stopping her now.
These pictures are 1 year apart.

Now that the season is slowing down, it’s time to get your horses used to even more fun things! Take them on a trail ride, rope, vault/trick ride, do things you didn’t have time for and expose them to unique fall things!
