Teddy is currently enrolled in our 6-week one-on-one training program, and we're starting to see some real progress.

On this day, Teddy practiced "Leave It" with treats sitting right at eye level. Instead of helping himself, he made the choice to look to his owner for guidance.

Moments like this may seem small, but they're the building blocks of impulse control, focus, and better decision-making in everyday life.

And hearing his owner tell him, "I'm proud of you," at the end? That's what it's all about. 🥰

If you're looking to build better communication, confidence, and real-life skills with your dog, one-on-one training sessions are now booking.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

But we also want to take a moment to recognize the military working dogs, horses, and service animals who stood beside them — serving with loyalty, courage, and unwavering trust. Many of them gave their lives alongside the handlers they protected.

Their service mattered. Their sacrifice mattered.
From all of us at Home and Herd Animal Care, we are grateful for every life given in the name of protecting others — both human and animal.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day spent with those you love most, including the four-legged ones beside you.

This visit has been on my mind and it was too funny not to share, it still makes me laugh. 🥄😂

I discovered a chewed baby spoon and immediately began interrogating the suspects.

Brodie cracked under pressure almost instantly and blamed Max before I even finished the question. 🤣

Meanwhile Max was just happy to be here.

This is pretty much what pet sitting looks like 😆 — a little chaos, a lot of personality, and never a dull moment.

One of the best things about dogs is that they live in the present. They exist in the now.

A lesson I take from dogs like Max here is to slow down sometimes and just take it all in. I'm watching over Max and Brodie while their owners are away and I appreciate these moments so much.

The warmth of the sun.
The quiet.
The sound of the wind through the trees.

Because some of the most beautiful moments we have are often the simplest ones.

Sometimes I can't believe I get to witness these quiet moments with them — not just the excitement, but the peace too.

Thankful every day for the trust people place in me with the animals they love so deeply.

Morning coffee hits a little different with a view like this ☕️🥰

And the company isn’t too bad either.

One of my favorite perks of this job.

What’s your view look like this morning?

Three years with Maisy & Lilly (Maisy pictured here). At some point it stopped being just a job.

They call me Auntie Nichole around here, and I wear that with pride.

I show up for your pets. I remember your travel plans. I watch your animals get older and I feel every bit of it. This work gets into your heart whether you plan for it or not.

Every pet I care for leaves a mark on me long after the visit ends.

Now booking pet sitting & drop-ins for June & July. If you're looking for someone who'll love your animals like their own, I'd love to meet you. Come join the Home & Herd family ❤️.

For a lot of people, their animals are their family. ❤️

And being trusted to care for them isn’t something I take lightly.

Whether it’s training, drop-ins, or farm sitting — I know I’m stepping into a role that matters. Making sure they feel safe, cared for, and understood while you’re away is always the priority.

Because the way you love your animals?
That deserves to be matched.

To all the moms out there — whether you’re raising kids, caring for animals, or both — Happy Mother’s Day. 💛

A huge congratulations to sweet Pickles on graduating Puppy Fundamentals! 🎓

This girl has come such a long way already. From building confidence and engagement to learning the foundations that will help her grow into an amazing adult dog, she worked so hard every step of the way. And those beautiful blue eyes? Absolutely impossible not to fall in love with 💙

One of my favorite parts of what I do is watching these puppies start to truly understand how to exist in our world with clarity, communication, and trust. It’s never just about “commands” — it’s about building a relationship and creating a dog that feels safe, understood, and successful.

Pickles and her mom should both be incredibly proud of all the progress they’ve made together. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes them next!

Congratulations again, Pickles! You earned it. 🐶🎉

Good morning from the beautiful Miss Annika ☀️🐾

We’re back with one of her absolute favorite things in the world… playing fetch in the sunshine and soaking up this beautiful morning. Safe to say she was VERY excited for me to arrive today 😂

There’s just something so peaceful about mornings like this — happy dogs, fresh air, muddy paws, and a little quiet before the day gets busy.

And busy it is! Later today I’m headed to two 1:1 training sessions, and I’m so excited to keep working with some awesome dogs and owners.

I still have openings available for private one-on-one training sessions, and I’m officially booking out for June pet sitting and farm sitting visits as well!

As always, thank you all so much for supporting this little dream of mine 💛

Somewhere between farm chores and feed buckets, I caught this little moment 🥹

She had fallen asleep in the sunshine and he stood right beside her keeping watch the entire time like her tiny little guardian. Tell me this doesn’t look like an old married couple after decades together 😭

These are the moments that make flock sitting so special to me. Every animal has their own personality, routines, and little relationships — and getting to witness them is such a gift. ❤️

And yes — for everyone who keeps asking, I do offer farm sitting services! Chickens, ducks, geese, and other poultry/flock care are actually one of my specialties
