Crowing already! It's chick season! Are you ready for your favorite, little fluff ball to announce himself?

Did you know that you can train cockerels to crow quietly?

Starting young makes it much easier for your boy to learn how to crow politely and still be satisfied with himself and his impressive show of manliness!

NO CROW Rooster Collars are made to work by two different ways:

- While allowing normal intake and storage of air reserves, the collar only affects the force of the air behind a full blast crow, effectively slowing down that "balloon" of air and deflating it as it comes out.

- AND it helps your boy to self moderate his crow. For most roosters, once they are used to their new collar, it is only noticeable is when it's time to crows. When the collar is fitted properly, the he adjusts the effort he puts into his crow so it's easier for him to crow more quietly.

Have your collar ready for him while he is still finding his voice and he will be as happy with his gentlemanly crow as you are

*We recommend measuring for size when he is nearly grown at a few months old and still a teenager".

We care about the health and welfare of all chickens and especially the roosters who wear our collars. We strongly encourage our you to take the time to get familiar with these instructions and important safety guidelines. We take our responsibility to help you through this process very seriously so that you can do your part to keep your pet roosters safe, happy and healthy.

As with any chicken food safety must always be considered while your rooster is wearing his collar. We strongly recommend that food be limited to crumble and finely chopped treats.

These instructions are also on our website posted with every item description, frequently asked question, checkout, and in the order confirmation email.

Please email us anytime you have questions or concerns that are not addressed in your instructions. We are here to help you day and night and will continue to assist you, however long it takes to succeed in safely reducing the volume of your roosters crow.

Thank you for trusting use to guide you through this process and for your devotion to these special animals that we have all come to love and value as pets and important members of your flock!

Sincerely,
Lauren & Jim

Chickens ‘changed the world.’ So why do we ignore them?

Long ago and far, far away, there was a very special, exotic kind of bird, a jungle bird from distant land. Whether worshiped or offered as precious gifts to god, one thing is clear, it was precious to the people. "What rare and coveted creature is this", you say. Well, these days, we call it "Chicken".

Researchers say chickens are smarter — and more interesting — than they've been given credit for.

Every single time I make a collar, I think to myself, "A sweet rooster will live in this collar." The amount of attention we give to little details like soft, ribbon on the ends and avoiding sharp edges makes our collars comfortable to wear. Our design makes the collar breathable and safe when used as directed.

If you ever have questions about using our collars, our website Www.NoCrowRoosterCollars.com has many answers to frequently asked questions.

NAUGHTY BOYS?

Roosters, such loving, cuddly, little things, aren't they? Well, mine are! Maybe even too cuddly! (See photo. Ha!)

BUT, not all roosters act as lovingly as we might like .......YET!

Do you have a naughty boy? Don't dismay!

Here are some of my own insights on retraining the naughty boys and building a trusting relationship with your roosters.

I am going to tell you a super easy and effective trick to keep your roosters on their best behavior. Understanding your rooster's natural attitudes will help you to read his signals. An aggressive rooster is ALWAYS looking for opportunity to climb the pecking order. You should be at the top. Territory and personal space are pivotal. If you watch them you will see them sizing you up long before they ever attack. To train them and keep them in check, make all of their personal space your territory. Every time you see him walk slowly and deliberately into his space. Stop if he looks like he will attack. You want to make him move. The first one to walk away loses. Go slowly and keep going until he walks away. Do this consistently to hammer it home.

Also, roosters are very self protective and have a loooooooong memory. If you hurt them or are insensitive to their natural fears, they may never forget it.

Roosters do not like sharp or fast movements. They do not like loud noises. They do not like being grabbed for no reason or being chased . And they do not like weakness. It is uncanny how they sense it.

So, move slowly and purposefully. Look him in the eye and watch his cues. He will warn you with sustained eye contact, hard flapping wings, sometimes a scream. Try doing the walk upon entering the run and then again each time he shows the warnings. Make sure to keep doing it until he walks away (usually muttering something rude under his breath.)

If you can pick him up first thing in the morning or whenever he is in a confined enough space to grab him without much drama, it is a good idea to do so and can sooth him and form an actual relationship. Firmly hold your hands on him before actually lifting him up. He needs to feel safe with you at every point of interaction. You can calm him by tapping your lips together (making a sound like little kisses). A "shhh" sound also helps. And talk to him low and soft. They bond when they are held very close and tight and "talked to" the way a mother hen would have. Use your face and head to snuggle him in and "cover" him. Give him a bit of a squeeze and just keep holding him until he gets calm. Once his is calm, pay attention to his cues. Put him down while he is still calm. Each time, try to keep him comfortable longer and make it a goal to hold him as long as he is comfortable until he shows you he wants down. Pick him up and set him down very slowly and him securely.

A rooster tucked under your chin will learn to submit. If you communicate that quiet kissing sound when he is nervous and speak softly, he will learn to trust you and give himself over to you.

They like to feel like they are under your wing. The more you snuggle them tightly and cover them, the safer they will feel. A hand over their head or your head on their back, will help.

When they feel safe in your arms they will eventually sleep. Then you have really succeeded. I don't think any of my chickens, even as chicks, really bond until they have fallen asleep in my arms.

They like routine also. If you hold them like this on a regular basis, they will expect it and crave it.

The key is to learn their cues. Give them as much positive attention as they ask for. Move slowly, speak gently, and let them go when they are ready.

Good luck!

I bet you all have your own tips and tricks. Please share! We would all love to hear them!

This is why we love our NO CROW Rooster Collars. These beautiful boys are not just chickens to us. In fact, it can be hard to even consider them pets. They are more like family. They love us. We love them.

We owe them a good life with all of the care and comfort they deserve.

This is Rex. Does he look comfortable or what?

He neither minds nor notices his collar. After the first 5 days, I have not heard a single crow. He chook, chook, chooks to the hens, warns them when hawks fly over, and, every know and then, runs from his older brother gobbling like a turkey! But, loud crowing? Never.

I am so grateful for the serendipity and the honor to have invented the NO CROW Rooster Collar and to share it all over the globe with roosters lovers like you!

All my best to your and your feathered loved ones!

Lauren

Please take a moment to read this important message:

HOW TO KEEP YOUR ROOSTER SAFE and happy in his NO CROW Rooster Collar:

This is our three year old, Bob. He has worn his collar without issue or incident since his first crow. It is the same for all of our roosters. And, it should be the same for all who use our collars. Use them with care and keep your rooster safe and happy.

We love Bob and would be devastated if anything happened to him. From the first collar that I made, the safety and happiness of my rooster and any rooster that would ever wear it has been my primary concern. We thank your for your dedication to the lives and well-being of your precious roosters and roosters worldwide. Please help use to spread awareness of the very important safety measures that we emphasize with every collar we sell.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS LOVE THEIR ROOSTERS AND CARE ENOUGH FOR THEIR WELL-BEING TO KEEP THEM AT HOME WITH THE HEP OF NO CROW ROOSTER COLLARS.

Misunderstanding of the responsibility required to use our collars effectively and safely can have unintentional consequences.

Why do some people lose their roosters that are wearing a collar and how do you avoid this very sad and preventable accident from happening?

There are two short answers:

1. USE YOUR COLLAR AS DIRECTED

And make sure you fully read and understand the Instructions before using the collar. Our instructions are posted on our website next to every collar that we sell. Read them before you buy so that you are aware of the commitment to proper use and care that will be required.

If your use of the collar is hurried and the instructions are not carefully followed, the misuse can cause harm to your rooster or even death. This collar is not meant to strangle the crow out of them. Please, read and understand the instructions provided on our website with the product you select. If you do not fully understand, please contact customer service for further information and assistance. We are here to help and it is so important to us to avoid the tragic consequences that happen when well-meaning chicken keepers misunderstand the proper use of their collars. Please, it is avoidable. Email us anytime; ask as many questions as you need to. We will respond every time. [email protected]

2. Proper monitoring and adjustments are not maintained while using the collar. It is very important to spend the necessary time to inspect the collar every time you use it for proper fit and placement.

If he wears it all of the time:

THE COLLAR MUST BE CHECKED DAILY.

If he wears is free ranging:

HIS ENVIRONMENT MUST BE CAREFULLY ASSESSED FOR HAZARDS.

If he is given kitchen scraps and large food:

HIS FOOD MUST BE DICED INTO SMALL PIECES OR PROVIDE CRUMBLES ONLY.

These safety measures are so very important. You love your roosters. We love our roosters. To lose one or cause unintentional harm is heartbreaking and can be devastating.

OUR COLLARS CAN BE SAFELY USED.
Please, please, email us any time - every time you have a question.

Rooster's lives, health, and happiness are our top priority.

We are here to help you to understand the proper and intended use of our product.

Here's a TIP!

Is your collar coming off too easily?

This might be why. If your rooster regularly wears his tag in the front you may find that the collar loosens as he frequently bends his neck.

To avoid this problem always make an effort to put the in the back.

For more assistance on this or other issues you may be having please email our customer service: [email protected]
