With a few delays due to heat and a cancellation from her owner, Freya had her last basic obedience class today. She has learned Heel, Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Up and Off, No and is working on Free Dog. She seems to do okay but her owner tells me she's easily distracted. As long as the owner keep working with her that should change with time.
I believe she's going to be a late bloomer, it's going to take her a moment to reach maturity. I did see her pedigree and all her relatives are working dogs, titled working dogs and show dogs. She should turn out to be a good dog.

Freya working on Down, she did very good. She was put in a Down, Stayed, I was able to walk away from her, walked a big circle around her and she kept good focus on me and also stayed in her Down....well done Freya, well done.
She's a young puppy and it's hard for her to keep focus at times. But she did spectacular in this moment.

A dog house in hot weather is Not shade, it's an OVEN!..Even if there's a breeze outside. Take your pets inside or at least get them real shade, plenty of cold water and a baby pool if possible.

I belong to numerous dog groups (pets and working dogs) here on social media. I cannot believe the amount of people that buy grids to put on the outside of their screen doors. I have always bought them and put them on the inside, not the outside. There's a reason I put them on the inside and there's a reason that I don't have to put them on the outside. The reason I put them on the inside is because if you come knocking on my door uninvited my dogs will go through that screen and hold you accountable for being on our property when you weren't invited...and I don't want it any other way. The reason I do NOT have to put them on the outside is because I interact with my dogs outside and they do NOT have to scratch/notify me to come back in.
With that said, I find it sad, very, very sad, that people have to put these on the outside of their screen doors. I'm not sad for the owners, I'm sad for the dogs.

I cringe every time someone tells me their dog gets/has the zoomies, no matter what the breed.
Why? Because if you're giving your dog adequate exercise, they don't get the zoomies.

CC's first four-wheeler run. She was doing an awesome job running until I slowed down to take video. I'm happy she's bright enough to know not to go directly in front of the four-wheeler.
