One of the best parts of our work is when we’re invited into the community to bring care directly to pets at their homes. Oftentimes, their owners are unable to come to us at chapter houses because they have more animals than they are able to transport, or their animals are too large- whatever the reason, we’re happy to be able to show up with a veterinary team and get these dogs and cats the care they need.
That’s how we met Nicki last month!
Nicki is a gorgeous rottweiler with a loving owner who’s had her since she was a puppy. As you can see, she’s a very friendly, happy girl! Unfortunately she has been dealing with mange, a skin condition caused by parasitic mites. While her owner was doing everything he could to treat her for that, Nicki needed a little more veterinary attention to get her on the road to good health, and we were so happy to be able to provide that! With her shots up to date and additional treatment for mange, we’re happy to say that Nicki is set up for success.
As we prepare for next week’s clinic at Crownpoint Chapter, we’d like to remind the community that if you have pets that you can’t bring to the chapter house, reach out to us! We can’t promise that we can make it to every home every month, but we always try our best. There is no greater honor than working with pet owners to make sure the pets they love have access to veterinary care.
