Garry and Christy recently came all the way from South Bend Indiana to visit and meet. Not only did they fall in love with Calvin, but they also met and fell in love with Gibbs! They decided to take both of the boys home with them. So congratulations to both Calvin AND Gibbs! They boys were good friends here and next-door mates so the fact that they got to stay together is going to be great for both of them. Happy Tails Calvin & Gibbs!

Happy Tails to Bailey Blue! She was adopted by Jon and Cindy who are previous GLWR adopters.

Jon said that Bailey is making herself at home and fitting right in. She slept most of the night her first night, and spent the day exploring her new yard. She also likes cuddling on the couch. Everything is going good! I think we’ll keep her! 🩶

Don't be afraid to adopt the shy, quiet, or standoffish Weim.

I adopted Kobe 7 weeks ago. I was told he had been passed over as he didn't show much affection or interest in folks who were looking to adopt a Weim. I was also told he didn't play with toys, was a picky eater, and was not treat motivated.

He is the most affectionate boy. It just took him some time to decompress from the stress of moving around.

He is also very treat motivated and carries his food dish into the living room when he has finished eating as he wants more! No special food....just kibble!

And look at the toy he brought me from the other room!

Sharing this sad news from the Tillinger Family

We adopted Smokey from GLWR in September 2019. Smokey had the best life with us, and for us, she was a gift from God. We are heartbroken at her passing. She was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and gall bladder disease a little over 2 years ago. I began cooking or her, and I cooked for Smokey every other day for over 2 years. She had two bouts of cancer this past year. This past month, she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Smokey never complained. She was and is such a beautiful angel. I'm heartbroken. Thank you for helping us find this wonderful Angel on Earth, Smokey-Girl.

Meet Ollie - 6-year-old long-haired silver Weimaraner with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a love for both adventure and snuggles. He’s ready to find a home that can keep up with his energy and appreciate all his lovable features. Ollie is being fostered in Kenosha Wisconsin by awesome foster parents Trisha & Darren ❤️🐾

Ollie absolutely loves to run and play—both physically and mentally—so he’ll thrive with an active person or family who can give him plenty of enrichment and exercise. One of his sweetest habits is self-soothing with his beloved purple blanket (which will come with him!).

Ollie is friendly with people (he’s especially fond of men) and gets along well with other dogs and even cats. He’s also a total cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up after playtime.

Ollie’s ideal home:

Active and able to provide plenty of physical and mental exercise
Committed to continuing his training (he’s smart and eager!)
Understanding of his anxiety and supportive of his needs
Ready for a loving, goofy, and affectionate companion

Hey guys! It’s Ranger here! I am a 3-4 year-old bully/weimaraner mixed boy looking for my Furever Family that will give me a safe spot to lay my head and wag my tail!

My foster mom says that all I need to do is put my “dating” profile up to find my “fur-fect match”! I can’t wait to see who wants to meet me! I have to tell my own story because I was found doing some freestyle running along a highway when I was picked up by the dog warden. I hid in the corner of my
cage, so scared, until the good people of Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue picked me up and got me to my foster family. I am an affectionate & loving boy who has so much to offer - I just need a chance!
