Gangster needs your help 💔🐾

We got some tough news about our sweet Gangster. She has been diagnosed with Mycoplasma, a bacterial infection that can be a long road to clear.

Gangster has never been in a kennel and has spent all of her time with us in low-volume foster homes, so unfortunately, we can only assume she may have picked this up while at the vet for her spay appointment.

The good news is that Mycoplasma is treatable. ❤️‍🩹 The bad news is that treatment can take some time. She will need medication for 3-week intervals, followed by X-rays and PCR testing. If she is still positive, we will repeat the treatment cycle as many times as necessary until we finally kick this infection!

Because Gangster is also FIV positive, her immune system may have a harder time fighting this off, so we want to give her every chance possible to get healthy.

We are desperately in need of donations to help cover Gangster’s treatment, testing, X-rays, and everything else that comes with this long road to recovery. Every dollar truly helps. ❤️

One of Those Rescue Days 💔

Today was crazy from start to finish.

I woke up to a text from one of our foster parents, Sharon, that her foster kitty was having difficulty breathing. After a quick video, I knew she needed the ER vet ASAP. Sharon brought her over, and I jumped in the car for the 50-minute drive to Commerce, where they were able to get her in.

She was started on two antibiotics and testing was sent out. $1,000 later… and we know there’s still more to come. 💔

I then flew back up the highway another 50 minutes to grab supplies for a TNR appointment. Justina and I spent several hours there catching kittens, assessing the situation, and making a game plan to help these babies and the rest of the colony.

I finally made it home to take care of my own animals, only to have several texts waiting about two-day-old kittens who had been found and desperately needed help.

Because I work full-time, I unfortunately can’t keep newborns like these long-term. Thankfully, another rescue had an opening and has agreed to take them tomorrow. ❤️

These tiny babies had already been without care for several hours, so right now we’re just praying they pull through the night.

Rescue days aren’t always happy adoption photos and cute kittens. Sometimes it’s ER vet bills, hours on the road, TNR, newborns, exhaustion, and hoping you can find the next person willing to help.

But we keep showing up. ❤️🐾

🐾 FOSTER NEEDED FOR 3 KITTENS! 🐾

We have 3 very friendly 12-week-old kittens looking for a foster home! They’re already spayed/neutered and just need a place to hang out until they find their forever homes. ❤️

We’re looking for a foster in Flint or Hartland, MI who can provide a seperate space (bathroom, bedroom, laundry room, etc.) for them until they’ve been f***l tested and dewormed.

Foster will also need to be able to transport them to/from Flint or Hartland for their vet appointment and adoption drop-off.

They’re sweet, friendly babies and shouldn’t be waiting long for homes!

This is definitely not the news we wanted to share this morning. 💔

Yesterday, one of our newest intake kittens, Bitty, became very lethargic and began showing signs of labored breathing. We knew she needed immediate care and rushed her to MedVet Commerce for evaluation.

The veterinary team recognized right away how critical she was and quickly took her back for assessment. They determined that Bitty was suffering from an extreme buildup of fluid in her chest cavity, which was preventing her lungs from properly expanding.

Because of her tiny size, young age, and the amount of suffering she was experiencing, we made the heartbreaking decision to help Bitty cross the Rainbow Bridge. While this decision broke our hearts, we knew it was the kindest and most loving thing we could do for her.

Please keep her foster family in your thoughts. Losing a baby is never easy 💔

Sometimes the rescue finds you when you least expect it. ❤️

Yesterday was an eventful day for one of our founders! While at her full-time job, she got a message that newborn kittens had been found inside the manufacturing facility where she works. These tiny babies—estimated to be just 7 days old—were born inside a rack that had been delivered to the plant.

They were cold to the touch, hungry, and in desperate need of help.

She rushed them home to get them warmed up, fed, and comfortable. She’ll be bottle-feeding around the clock until our friends at Frankie's Rescue Squad have an available foster to take over. 🥰

These little ones had a rough start to life, but they ended up in the right place at exactly the right time. Please keep these tiny fighters in your thoughts as they continue to grow stronger! 💕

This little guy is headed to an amazing home with a tiny human to grow up with and two kitty siblings to show him the ropes. We couldn’t be happier for him!

Three more tiny kittens are safe with Rescue Pets Inc.! 🐱💕

We saw our friends at Genesee County Animal Care post that they were at capacity and needed rescue partners to help with kitties. Thankfully, we had foster homes available, so we welcomed these three little babies today!

They’re not quite ready for adoption yet—they need to gain weight, get lots of TLC, and eat, eat, eat! 🍼
