Last night our family got to hang out with Oscar, one of our 2021 spring litter babies. He’s such a big and friendly boy, always ready for some playtime! 😃
He even sat on my feet a few times! 😄 {so sweet! 😅}
Does your Berner love you by sitting on your feet, too? 🥰

***Oscar lives with our friends, locally here in northern Indiana, and we get to visit him a few times a year. He’s always there ready to greet us! 🥰

🐾 … Here to share a very sweet moment …

We received a bottle lamb from a farmer friend the other day, for our girls to care for.
They were in school and I took the lamb outside for some fresh air and sunshine and thought I had him secured to the fence and while getting feed ready for our own flock of sheep to feed them, little lamb got loose and began darting through the yard.
Duchess is not a LGD and has never been trained to do so, other then her natural instinct to protect those around her and our guidance as to what she is not permitted to chasing or hurt on our farm … ex: sheep, chickens, cats.
My running for the lamb just kicked her instincts into gear, and I didn’t think she was gonna hurt little lamb, but she did get really excited and starting running at little lamb … I was getting nervous, because little lamb was headed toward the road and it’s a busy road. I put a curve in my running aim to scare litle lamb back toward the other end of the yard and he did head back again.
I told Duchess ‘sit’ & then to ‘stay’, and she mostly did, but all of a sudden she saw her chance and she dove and grabbed the end of little lambs leash and slowed little lamb down enough for me to grab it!
I was so shocked and yet, I don’t know why, because she really is a good dog. I guess not having training I just didn’t expect it from her.
She got some extra treats, brushing and praise after her heroic act! 🐾

🐾 In our Spring ‘22 litter, we had 2 puppies that traveled via American Airline to be joined with their new families … They traveled together for the first leg of their journey and then parted ways to finish their journeys to their new homes.
Harley was one of them and he ended up in the mountains of Colorado. He arrived happy and seemingly doing well. After arriving at his new home, he ate and played like a puppy does.
His new mom (Brenda) and I kept in touch and about 18 hours after his arrival she told me he vomited a small amount, a few times and didn’t seem to want to eat. He seemed ok otherwise … I got in touch with our vet and Brenda and I kept in touch as the days progressed. About 36-48 hours after arriving he begin eating a little bit and about 72 hours after his arrival he was back to eating like normal.
The culprit. Elevation acclimation.
My family and I have visited the mountains and I have experienced ear popping and some light headedness from elevation differences, but I’ve never experienced nausea. Apparently adjusting to great elevation differences can affect human and animals alike. And why wouldn’t it? Right?

We are at 800’ and he now lives at 6,500’+ … so it’s understandable why he didn’t want to eat. He had to get acclimated first.

Harley is now known as Moose and his family is taking good care of him. 🥰

🐾 This weekend was filled with action … Saturday we met a sweet couple that took Brutus home as there own. 🐶
Yesterday 2 little fur babies (Harley & Lucy) were delivered via American Airline, to meet their new families. 🐶🐶… that left Sasha to be our shadow for 1 more day …
Today she met her family and she is off to new things as well. (Sasha and her new mom pictured below.)

It’s so quiet around her, and it almost feels awkward not having bouncy puppies right at my feet while walking. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

🐾 🐶 ~Max has ‘flown the coop.’

His new human Dad, told us he was missing his family, his first evening away, so he gave him a mirror and Max enjoyed that.
What a sweet gesture, offering a puppy a mirror to help him settle into his new atmosphere away from his litter mates.
He later texted saying he is enjoying his own new mattress. ❤️🐶🐾

🐾 Our current litter is reserved. Harley will be headed to the beautiful state of Colorado. Max, Brutus and Sasha will hop up one state (into Michigan) and Lucy will be off to Missouri. We will certainly miss them, but we are so happy to connect with families that want to start a new adventure with our beautiful loyal breed. 🐾

Snuggle puppy of mine, everything about you is especially fine! I love what you are, I love what you do, fuzzy little snuggle puppy, I love you! … 🎶🎶 …

Dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked, loved on, and ready to meet furever families April 4 or after. Duchess (mama) is our family dog, and only dog.
A deposit will hold a puppy til going home day.
Airline shipping is available, for an additional fee.

🐾 Winter finally arrived this week … COLD and SNOWY … just the way Duchess prefers it to be! 😃

My faithful snow shoveling, winter loving pal! She’s the only one that stuck with me til the job was through … but to be fair it is pretty cold outside and my human babies are still little (ish). 🐾

🐾 Today we got an update on Porter, from our fall ‘21 litter {previously known as Louie.} Porter is just 4 months old and look at how big and handsome he is!?! 😍 🐶
We love watching them grow up and Porters mom would be just as excited as us, to see updates on his siblings. ❤️

🐾 All our little loves have moved in with their new families… and are settling in well, according to the updates we’ve been getting. 🥰🐶🐾

Mama duchess has transitioned well into being my shadow again, going where I go.
Today is applesauce day, and she has claimed herself boss-lady to any wasp or bee that is drawn into the garage from the wonderful aroma. 😄🐝

All of who landed safe and sound and joined their new families … ready to love and care for them. Giving them a family and a home.🎁❤️🐶🐾

It’s always so bittersweet to say good bye to these little fur babies.

… but being a small part of today’s generous gift, was such a blessing! 🐾 A mama gifted her daughter a very generous birthday present, after her daughter has faced an especially hard season in life.
