☀️ Summer Safety Tips for Your Pets 🐾

As the weather heats up, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable! Here are a few things to watch out for during the summer months:

🐶 Hot Pavement
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Pavement can burn quickly—try walking early morning or later in the evening.

💧 Dehydration
Always make sure your pets have access to fresh, cool water—especially after walks or time outside.

🌡️ Heatstroke
Dogs can overheat fast. Watch for excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting. When in doubt, get them cooled down and contact a vet.

🚗 Never Leave Pets in the Car
Even a few minutes in a parked car can be dangerous—even with windows cracked.

🌿 Ticks, Fleas & Bugs
Summer means pests are out! Stay up to date on preventatives and check your pets after being outside.

🍔 BBQs & Unsafe Foods
Keep an eye out for foods like grapes, onions, chocolate, and fatty scraps—these can be harmful to dogs.

🏊 Water Safety
Not all dogs are strong swimmers—always supervise around pools, lakes, or the ocean.

Hi everyone! My name is Alexi, and I live in Gorham, Maine. I’m currently offering pet sitting and farm animal care services in the area.

I have extensive experience caring for a wide range of animals including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and other farm animals. I previously worked at the MSSPA for three years, where I gained hands-on experience with administering medications, feeding, turnout, and handling animals with different temperaments and needs.

In addition, I have 10+ years of experience caring for dogs, including those with medical needs and special care requirements, and I’m comfortable administering medications when needed.

I currently work as a bartender in Gorham, which allows me to have very flexible daytime hours to provide reliable care for your animals while you’re away.

I truly love working with animals and would treat your pets as if they were my own. Please feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a dependable pet sitter! 🙂
