Mabel the Glen reporting for duty… from my recovery throne 🐾👑

To the kind human who sent my surprise get-well basket: THANK YOU for the snack dispenser and toys! I investigated everything thoroughly (for safety purposes, obviously).

The toys are squeak-approved, the goodies have boosted morale, and I am now recovering at a much more professional level.

My tail is wagging harder, my nap schedule is improving, and I may even be ready to resume neighborhood squirrel surveillance soon.

Mabel appreciated all your prayers and kind words! She's resting and recovering beautifully. Although we can no longer show conformation, we can pursue other titles. She's going for her AKC Trick Dog Novice and Obedience Novice A test in June. She may be down now, but she'll rise up and continue to show the world how incredible this breed is!

Heartbreaking news for Mabel. Following our trip home, Mabel's health declined. I trusted my gut and got her into vet....

Heartbreaking news for Mabel. Following our trip home, Mabel's health declined. I trusted my gut and got her into vet. Her CBC was off the charts. We treated and tested many things. She continued to decline. A few days later, my wonderful vet made the diagnosis of pyometra, which is a life-threatening uterine infection. She is currently undergoing an emergency hysterectomy.

I'm so thankful that we caught this and she's going to be fine. I do however mourn the loss of our potential breeding program and our future growth. Thank you Shelly Ruth Daume for always having a big heart and great care for our pets. Prayers for Mabel appreciated.

Traveling home has been much easier on little Mabel, than the trip out. Hormone changes from her first heat cycle combined with car sickness just about got her down. A bit of Dramamine and settling hormones have kept her perky on our journey home.

I wish they could talk and tell us how to help them. This big headed, shaggy, dwarf nerd sure is special to me and I'm thankful for her returning health.

That's a wrap! Peace out New Jersey! I'm so pleased with Mabel. Although she traveled 15 hours, was in the middle of her heat cycle, nauseated and hadn't felt well enough to eat for days, she still kept her sweet and gentle spirit. She brought home 3 ribbons.

The greatest value was meeting and learning from one of the greatest teams of Glen breeders ever! I was continual poured into by Amanda Purcell and Emily Bennett. The help you provided was appreciated more than you know. I also received a hand stripping grooming lesson by Margery Good, and had Conformation training with Theresa Nesbitt.

We're sitting 15th in Owner Handler points with a goal of moving up to top 10 in the Nation for 2026. Mabel is truly the best dog I've ever had and her future is exciting. I can't wait to see how she continually develops and more so, I can't wait to bless others with Glen puppies in 2027!
