We’ve had the most delightful week welcoming our first grandchild into the world. Miss Selah is here and safe. So…we’re taking a few weeks off from baking, but we will be back to it soon.

Pumpkin bread is a family favorite in our house. On chilly mornings, our kids would be delighted to come downstairs to find warm pumpkin bread coming out of the oven and hot spiced cider simmering on the stove.

This is a recipe from my mom: fill a pot with as much cider as you like, add in a whole orange with a dozen and a half whole cloves push pinned into the orange, two whole cinnamon sticks, bring to boil and then turn down low and serve as they come piling in the kitchen because it smells so good.

Our traditional sourdough has three ingredients: organic unbleached flour, water, and salt. It has some great health benefits including a lower glycemic index than store-bought breads.

Compared to many other types of bread, sourdough is fermented (our loaves do a 7-hour counter ferment and then an 18-hour cold ferment) in a way that depletes bad starches within it. This means it won’t cause your blood sugar to rise so drastically when eating it.

Get your order in by Wednesday evening and pick up is Friday just a mile behind Publix.
