RIDE for Their Lives! is Carolina Animal Rescue's Annual Cycling (Bike) Event held the 2nd Sat of May We are fueled entirely by donations and fundraisers!

Carolina Animal Rescue &Adoption is a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter located in Sanford, NC. We rescue dogs/cats from high-kill shelters across many counties in Central NC. CARA took over the mission and the small shelter from the San Lee Humane Society in 2004. Since then, we have rescued thousands of animals in search of their FURever Homes! Ride For Their Lives! began in 2009 when a few cyc

ling enthusiasts came to us with an idea of a Bike Ride to raise money!! It's become our largest fundraiser for CARA!!! All Levels are Welcome to Ride!! Ride the beautiful country roads through Lee, Chatham and Moore Counties. Ride either a 10mile route or 50k (w/ 45 mile option ) or go for a 100k!! The Ride is fully supported with a Bike Mechanic tuning up your bike pre-ride , and fully stocked aide stations along the way! We offer a delicious lunch and tasty cool beverages Post-Ride at Deep River Park/Camelback Bridge (the start and end of the ride). Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the peaceful scenery in the park! Adoptable CARA Pups will be waiting to meet you!!
**New for 2023!** A 50 mile GRAVEL Route ! This ride departs the park at approx. 8:35am**
