Sheep looking for new 🏡

First three are 2 to 3 years old cull sheep, not for dog work. Getting the wool out of my flock only reason for selling.

1. Black Ewe (Hot Sugar): Breed unknown. She is bred if she does lamb due date will be September 20th. Baby will be hair mix. Throws a nice black fleece good for felting projects. Is very much a lead ewe, will come up for pets when she gets to know you. Used to being scissor sheared on a stand. Never had to worm her, has had a CDT this year, feet are good as well. Prefers to forage and eat hay more than grain.

2. White whether (Walla Walla): East FresianxNavajo Churro cross. Throws a beautiful long staple white wool, perfect for rugs. Very flighty but will come for grain. Used to being scissor sheared on a stand. Would make a great fiber pet for someone. Will forage does great on it. Had to worm once or twice when small haven't had to in about 2 years, has good feet trimmed maybe twice.

3. Scruffy whether (505): Mutt sheep mix of 5 different breeds. Is technically a hair cross but doesnt shed. Never had to worm, good feet. Would be good as a pet lawn mower or for the dinner table. Will forage, will come for grain.

Lambs!

We have 3 Khatadin Lambs that are ready for new homes! All are weaned and currently eating grain and hay. Two ewes and a Ram lamb. Ram is intact and would make a great future herd sire for someone good conformation, has gained weight quickly about 30lbs at 12 weeks old. His sister is the same, she has had her tail docked. Other ewe lamb was a single and is currently 40lbs at 12 weeks old. Tail docked as well.

All come from good mothers, have great feet, will forage, the bigger ewes mom has a large udder every year could make a good dairy ewe. Mom's haven't had to be wormed since they were small, Father is parasite resistant as well with good feet. Is a fast weight gainer was 80 pounds at 6 months old.

We have 2 more Lambs that will be ready at the end of June, a ram and a ewe. Would be willing to sell two unrelated ewes and older ram lamb as a starter herd for someone if interested and with deposit.

Lamb update! Our 3 littles born here are doing wonderfully! Already nibbling hay and bouncing all about the place. We also picked up a 3 week old east fresian/lacune mix ram lamb which Toes took on beautifully. He has done well switching from bottle back to mother's milk and is growing like a w**d. All lambs have had their CDT vaccines and our ewes have had tails banded as they will be staying here. Our boys will be available in June after weaning.

We have one more ewe expecting that was apparently bred much later than expected so still playing the waiting game. But would not be surprised if its another set of twins.

Bielfelder and Khaki campbell hatching eggs

Bielfelder's are an old german breed of chicken, large slow growers that producer medium to large brown shelled eggs. Good for dual purpose, dont tend to jump fences or wander. Very docile! And thrive in hot or cold environments, free range or coop kept. My eggs tend to have a 60% hatch rate using dry hatch method.

Khaki Campbell's are a powerhouse egg layer averaging 300-350 large white eggs a year, quiet, docile ducks, thrive in all weather, great free ranged or coop kept. Good flockability. 80% hatch rate.

Asking 25 a dozen or 2 an egg if wanting less

Will have chicks available in the coming months.

Also have two quail hens im willing to part with.

PM in intrested.

Fern, wants to know, "Are you prepared for Winter Storm Fern?"

She's not quite sure why any one wanted to name a winter storm after her, shes more of a warm weather girly. Never the less, she wanted me to tell you not to wait till last minute to get the supplies needed for you and your animals in case of a power outage. Please keep in mind Virgina state code says all outside animals must have proper shelter with straw(not blankets or hay), water, and food, and can not be tethered in temps under 40 for longer than an hour. Contact your local shelter if you need help with a crate temporarily for your outside dogs or cats till the storm passes. And if you dont have to go out please stay home! No issue is worth your life whatever it is can wait a day for roads to clear.

Another cold weekend and our final trial in the books for 2025! 🥳

This past weekend we were at Beloved Storm Farm owned and operated by the lovely Nicole Bozich for her annual USBCHA trial! We had a wonderful time, Nicole as a trial host goes above and beyond for everyone competitors and staff alike making sure we all had a good time. Her sheep and pen system were wonderful to work with making the weekend a breeze! Huge shout out to her neighbor Ronnie who provided lunch both days the bbq, baked beans, and potato salad were to die for! We also once again got to work with one of our favorite set out people Josh Gibson, he takes the worry out of the set out side of pen work always willing to offer a hand in the pens if needed and helping us stay informed on whats going on up field. We are always a little more relaxed seeing him on the field!

We are proud to include Beloved Storm USBCHA trial as a facet of our annual trial schedule and to have Nicole and her family as friends and clients. Looking forward to next year

Winter really came in with a bang this year! We hope all of our followers have been keeping warm or at least all of your fingers and toes during barn chores these past couple of days! We found ourselves back at one of our favorite places, Glenrose Farms, owned and operated by Laura Noll, for her first ever winter USBCHA Sheepdog Trial. Despite the cold there were a lot of smiles, laughs, and happy dogs abound. Getting to see a border collie in action doing what it was bred to do is a joy, bordering on addiction for those passionate about the business. Getting to enjoy such a view in a place as picturesque as Laura's farm is sure to leave you with a warm heart that will last through the season.

We always have a great time working Laura's trials and hope the winter series becomes as regular a staple to our year as the summer series.
