For the past few weeks I have been working a lot with Mat Cleveland who owns The Dog Teach. He has great talent and has helped me tremendously with Sol, Kobe, Luke, Bam, and has evaluated several more at the county shelter for me. He has done this out of the kindness in his heart and for love he has of Rottweilers, however like most of us he does need to make a living and pay his bills so he is limited on how much time he has to volunteer as help us. So to make it financially beneficial for him, I need to do my part in marketing him, which I never mind doing for a dog trainer who is as talented as Mat is and who get results so quickly. So I need to ask you a favor, and help me help Mat because I do desperately need his help. Please takes second, and like his page for us. Not only will you get to see videos of Mat working out Rotties, but you may even learn a thing or two! Like his paw now before you forget!! Thanks

This is Kobe, our newest rotten rottie! Valerie and I pulled him from the euthanasia list last week. They pretty much told us that he was on death’s door. That they didn’t believe that he would even make it through a neuter surgery. That his belly was distended, He was vomiting blood, and that he was coughing but did not have any other symptoms of a URI. They even moved his euthanasia time to just 24 hours, because they thought he was suffering to much to keep him alive. . I have not seen any signs of sickness from him. He was a little congested but that has cleared up. He is full of energy has a great appetite, poops are good. They also changed his age from 5 to 9! We believe he is 4 going on 5 because that is what his microchip said, the owner said that she has stage four cancer and gave Kobe away to someone she met online but after she gave him away she has not been able to get in touch with him. So a few weeks ago a couple spotted Kobe on the side of the highway on their way to Vegas. They pulled over and waited with Kobe until the dog catcher showed up about 2 hours later. The lady that helped him told county that she wanted to adopt him if nobody claimed him. So I contacted the lady that found him and asked her if she still interested in him, because I wanted to save him but have nowhere to put him. She said that she would Ike to have him , so I pulled him thinking that he was going into a home where they already knew the family and he would only be 3 miles away from us. However, this lady is not answering my test messages now and we have no place for him here. If you are interested in fostering this handsome guy. Please go to our website and fill out an application at https://www.rottenrottie.com/foster-a-rottweiler. He know his commands. He does sit and down very nicely. He gives paw. Not sure how he does in a crate yet. He does walk well on a leash with a training collar on. Our trainer will help introduce him to any pets you may have. You have to live on the phoenix area to foster for us.

UPDATE: Aug.2nd- We have a foster that is able to take in Banjo on 8/13. We need a temporary foster from 8/4 - 8/12!
🚨 UPDATE Aug.1st- We have received 0️⃣ ZERO foster applications for Banjo.
Banjo is a good dog. He’s just scared in the shelter, and who could blame him? It’s loud, stressful, and no place for a sensitive soul like Banjo. He just needs someone to give him a chance and we are his last chance at living a full and happy life.
If you have room in your home and the heart to help a dog who hasn’t given up hope, please help us save him.
We really want to see Banjo live a full, happy life but we’re running out of time. We must have a foster home by Monday, August 4 or the shelter will euthanize him. They are completely out of space.
If you’re even thinking about fostering, please fill out our foster form. Let us talk to you. Let us answer your questions. Let’s see if this is something you can do.
And if you can’t foster, please share. You never know who might say yes.
Let’s save him together. We cannot do this without our communities support. Please help us save Banjo.
If you’re thinking about adopting him, Matt Cleveland, the owner of The Dog Teach, is offering 50% off training to help set everyone up for success.
Don’t let his age deter you. Being middle-aged is a positive because we have a clearer picture of who he is. You don’t have to worry about who your dog is going to grow up to be or what kind of temperament he’ll have. What you see now is who he really is. He is a sweetboy with a great temperament. If you already know Banjo is the one for you and would like to you want to skip fostering and adopt Banjo, you will have to adopt him through us since he is not adoptable through the shelter. The link to our adoption application is below.
URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR BANJO – EUTHANASIA DEADLINE AUGUST 4 🚨
➡️We are NOT the shelter. We are a rescue trying to find a foster home so that we can save him. ⬅️
Banjo’s life depends on us! We need a foster home by Monday evening, August 4. If we are unable to find a foster home to place him in, Banjo will be euthanized Tuesday morning. Out county shelter is bursting at the seams. They have no open kennels, so a dog like Banjo, who is very fearful of the shelter environment, needs to find alternative placement quickly.
🐾 Meet Banjo – ID
• Age/Size: Approximately 5 years old, 76lbs
• Behavior: scared in the shelter. Took treats gently, warmed up to pets after some time in the yard with us. He is a very sweet dog who is extremely frightened of all the loud sounds in the Shelter.
• Likely dog friendly, he was found with two female Rottweilers. The finder kept them for 18 days and stated that they got along well. He saw one of the females he came in with in a neighboring yard, and he became very excited to see her.
• The person who rescued him did not introduce him to their personal dogs or children, so his tolerance of children and small animals is still unknown
• The ideal foster home would not have children under age 12, but if you do have younger children and wish to apply, we’ll still consider your application.
🏡 Foster Requirements:
• Able to begin fostering by August 4th until Banjo is adopted or another foster can be found. If you are only able to foster temporarily, please note that we are not able to find new Foster homes quickly. We will need time to locate a new foster home. So we are hoping to find somebody who is willing to commit to him throughout his foster journey until he is adopted .
• East valley foster home preferred, but anywhere in the Phoenix area will be considered if you are able to drive him to vet appts and to meet potential adopters in Gilbert.
• Banjo needs a foster who is willing and able to care for a fearful dog, allowing ample time and patience for Banjo to decompress. Someone who will respect his space and the time it takes for him to trust you from what we saw today he seems to warm up quickly.
• the foster home would need to be able isolate him from other pets initially, once he has had some time to decompress and become comfortable with his surroundings we will facilitate introductions to pets in your home.
💸 Rescue Will Cover All Banjo’s Needs:
Rotten Rottie Rescue will cover all expenses related to Banjo, including:
• Veterinary care
• Medications
• Food, crate, bedding, and toys, anything Banjo needs
All you need to do is provide a safe, loving foster home and allow Banjo the space and time to relax and heal.
🙏 if you are unable to foster but still want to help, Please share this post immediately.
Banjo doesn’t have much time, your share could be his lifeline. 🖤

Update: she is now in a foster home. Thank you Joan and Jim Senner!
This little girl showed up at a model home in a new housing development in Avondale. The realtor put her in the back yard to keep her safe but she isn’t going to be able to keep her there for long. I lent her my microchip scanner, because she happens to live down the street from me, so she will take it with her to work in the morning and scan her and hoping for a happy reunion. If you happen to be missing a girl like this, please contact me asap.

Update: Kobe is safe and our newest rotten rottie.
PHOENIX, AZ & Surrounding Areas
🚨 URGENT! IMMEDIATE FOSTER HOME NEEDED TO KOBE 🚨
➡️ Please note that we are NOT the shelter. We are a small rescue in the state of Arizona dedicated to rescuing Rottweilers. We are trying to save him. ⬅️
We are urgently looking for a foster home for Kobe, an 8yo male Rottweiler currently on the euthanasia list at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control in Phoenix.
Kobe is in serious condition and needs to be seen by a vet immediately.
💔 If we do not find a foster home by tomorrow evening (Sunday), Kobe will be euthanized at the shelter Monday morning.
🐾 What We Know About Kobe:
• He is coughing, underweight, trembling in his hind legs, and reluctant to put weight on one of his back legs
• Yesterday, his stomach became distended, and it appears to be causing him discomfort
• The shelter does not know exactly what’s wrong, but his condition is serious and needs urgent attention
• Shelter staff say Kobe is very friendly, easy to handle, and has a wonderful temperament
🏡 Foster Requirements:
• We prefer the foster lives in the East Valley so that he can be near the rescue and close to the vet . If you do not live in the East Valley and want to foster him please still apply. We will consider every application.
• Ideally works from home or is home most of the day to monitor him and provide any treatments he may need.
• Willing to transport Kobe to vet visits in Gilbert.
• Experienced with medical/senior dogs or open to learning how to give meds and palliative care
• Must be able to monitor him closely in case he needs emergency vet care.
🐶 Home Compatibility:
• No other animals preferred, at least until we know more about his condition and temperament
• If other pets are in the home, Kobe must be kept separate while he recovers
• No small children preferred, but we will consider all responsible and safe applications
💸 Rotten Rottie Rescue Covers All Costs:
• Vet care
• Medications
• Food, crate, bedding, and any supplies Kobe may need
🙏 Please share this post urgently. Kobe needs someone to give him a chance. Your share could save his life. 🖤

Every year at Rottoberfest we have on our live auction a picture of two that we have added a painted effect to and we have it printed on canvas. It has gotten between $500-$1000 each at the auction. Wanted to ask you all a favor of you and have you post in the comments below your most fun, cutest and interesting rottweiler photo. The dog has to have come from our rescue. Maybe we will pick your photo to have showcased at rottoberfest. Here are some of the paintings from auctions past. Thanks. IF you dont have a rotten rottie or a picture to share, please give a like to the picture you like the best!

This boy was found at 16th street and Roeser in south Phoenix. No chip. Sweet boy. The person that found him cannot hold on to him very long so we are looking for a foster home for him to keep him safe until we can find his family or get him vetted and find him a new family. He is getting along with the male shepherd mix that lives at the residence that found him. If you are interested please check out our brand new website! Click on the foster tab and fill out our foster application. You need to live the phoenix area to foster for us. East valley is preferred. You must live in AZ to adopt from us.

Bam was also just adopted! We rescued him from MCACC last week. I had Matt Cleveland with The Dog Teach help me with him. We introduced him to his new rottie sister and they get along fantastic. His foster dad, Scott Coleman, could recognize that he would be a fool to pass up the opportunity to own a dog like Bam! So he adopted him and signed up with Matt to take some classes with him. Shout out to Valerie Johnson for pulling him and transporting him for me.

Rotten Rottie Rescue is a non profit 501C3 small rescue focused on purebred Rottweilers. We take in rottweilers that find themselves homeless and end up in the pound, or rotties that are about to be turned over to the pound because their owners can not keep them. We make sure that WE ADDRESS ALL OF THEIR MEDICAL ISSUES each dog has current vaccinations for parvo, distemper and rabies. We spay and neuter each and every dog, treat them for ticks, test them for heartworms and microchip them, and we try to work through any behavioral problems they might have before we find them VERIFIABLE loving responsible homes where they will be happy and spend the rest of their days.
We can not take in dogs from the public that are human aggressive. We rely on donations from the public, so we can continue to do what we do. Please consider donating to our no kill rescue. Together with your help, we can rescue and rehome this wonderful breed and give them a second chance to find the forever home they so deserve.
Our Mission Statement
Our goal is to rescue, restore health, and place rottweilers in safe adoptive and foster homes. To offer the public that own rottweilers advice and solutions to help them to keep their rottweilers and educate the public on the importance of spay and neutering their pets. We always advocate for the rottweiler and consider him or her our clients.
Values
OUR CLIENTS: Always putting them first and caring deeply about their success
RESULTS: Getting the job done, with genuine impact
PRECISION: Sweating every detail as master craftsmen of products and services
HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY: Speaking and demanding the unvarnished truth, and addressing challenges head on
TEAMWORK: Enjoying each other’s company and celebrating our success together, because it could not have been done by one of us alone. It takes foster families, transporters, donors, supporters, directors, and volunteers who come together to save one life at a time.
INTEGRITY: Doing the right thing, every time
TO DATE WE HAVE RESCUED OVER 900 ROTTWEILERS
There would be no need for this if people would stop breeding them!! Please adopt before you shop. If we all unite and stop buying dogs from backyard breeders, puppy mills, pet stores and even AKC breeders, then they would stop breeding until they all have a home. Although we have been successful in rehoming as many as we have, we have also been unsuccessful in rescuing 1000's of others, who were destroyed due to the inability to find them a home quick enough. Don't contribute to this number. Stand up and tell them enough is enough. No more rottweiler should have to die because they are homeless.
