Happy 4th of July!
Dogs and cats and 4th of July Fireworks Fear
The 4th of July, while a time for celebration for many, can be a particularly stressful and frightening time for dogs due to fireworks. Unlike humans, dogs and cats don't understand the celebratory nature of fireworks and often perceive the loud, unpredictable noises as a threat. Never bring a pet to any fireworks.
Tips on ways to help your pet work through their fear:
Keep animals indoors, create a safe place in the house, muffle sounds (play relaxing dog music, white noise, run a fan). Make sure they have identification like a collar or microchip. Exercise your pet before the fireworks start , this can help decrease anxiety. Remain calm, if a pup thinks your nervous or scared, they will pick up on it. If you have any questions please reach out.

🦴 Check and Update your Microchip Information. Prepare for loose animals, the 4th of July is the day most animals escape.

🦴Have proper identification on your pets collar.

🦴 Secure pets in a safe and calm enviroment. Put them inside a room, or a kennel. Tv and music may help to reduce outside noise.

Sometimes even our own fur babies need surgery! This is my kitty, Puddy who is 16.5 years old. On exam Dr. Matt found a resorptive lesion. These are a painful dental condition where the tooth structure breaks down and is reabsorbed by the body Though dogs and cats can get resorptive lesions, it is most common in cats. It’s estimated that up to 60% of cats and 40% of dogs are affected by tooth resorption by the time they are 6 years old. As you can see in the image, it is very painful., red and inflamed. Here is an up-close image of my kitties mouth under anesthesia to get a dental and removal of the tooth with the lesion. Many cats don't show that they are in pain which is why it is so important to get yearly exam's for our pets. After animals get the diseased tooth extracted the kitty is happier, eats better and even be more friendly! Please connect with us if you have any questions about dental disease or would like to set up an oral exam :) 😬🐱

Hi everyone. We are reaching out hoping for a miracle . We had to help sending our client, Pam's, soul kitty over the rainbow bridge 2 months ago. Since then she has been looking for her next companion. She fell for a few that were special needs but couldn't bear the possibility for heartbreak soon again. She finally found this beautiful baby at the shelter 2 weeks ago and as you can see she made herself right at home. We got a call from Pam yesterday that her niece has cancer and will be getting hospice care in her home, but is allergic to cats. Pam is devastated as the kitty slept on her bed for the first time last night. She called us from the shelter this morning balling because she couldn't bear to surrender kitty back. So we are asking everyone to share this post and ask them to share the post hoping that if we spread the word enough that someone might fall in love with this baby. Please message us with any support.
