We are excited to announce the launch of American Made Bucking Horses (AMBH)! This futurity competition platform has been created to showcase the performance and talent of yearling, two year old and three year old bucking horses.
Futurity competition is not new to the bucking horse industry, and American Made Bucking Horses is positioned to take this competition format to the next level with some new and exciting events and venues. The 2025 schedule will include regular season stops in Childress, Texas (May 10); Duncan, Oklahoma (Jun 6); Ada, Oklahoma (Sept 20) and will finish with a high stakes event and expected payout of over $100,000 in Las Vegas, Nevada (Oct 20)!
There is no membership fee in 2025 and these competitions are open to the world and available for anyone to enter and compete. Randy and Amber Schmutz will serve as general manager and secretary/office manager of the new American Made Bucking Horses. Together they bring over 20 plus years of event management and involvement in the futurity competition industry.
The AMBH will be working with event producers as well as Canadian Made Bucking Horses in Canada and collaborating with the American Bucking Bull Inc (ABBI).
โWe are beyond excited to be part of the next chapter in bucking horse futurity competitionsโ, explained Randy Schmutz. โWe are working with some great event producers including Chris Cox for the Childress, Texas event on May 10th and Dennis and Jan Owens for the Ada,
Oklahoma event ~ September 20th. We will also be working with Buck Peters and the Canadian Made Bucking Horses and we are super excited to host events with the ABBI in Duncan, Oklahoma ~ June 6th and Las Vegas, Nevada ~ October 20th!โ
This yearโs signature event will be the โBig Bucks Horse Futurityโ in Las Vegas on October 20th, alongside the ABBI World Finals in the South Point Arena. This competition is open to any 2 year old (2023 born) bucking horse. Competitors will be given the chance to purchase an
โOpportunityโ to enter this event for $400, going to production and awards. Thirty days before the event, competitors will enter the event and name their horse and pay a $1500 entry fee, 100% going to the payout. The ABBI will add $10,000 to the purse and with 75 entries, the event will pay the winner $20,000 and pay 20 places! The โBig Bucksโ Champion will receive a custom leather tooled halter with a Kelly Slover Silversmith buckle in the nose band and the top 10 will receive a buckle! The ABBI will award an event jacket to each entry!
"We are excited to be a part of this initiative that will showcase these great bucking horse athletes. Weโre confident, together with American Made Bucking Horses, we will be able to provide a great outlet for these stock contractors with the highest level of professionalism with
all of our focus on the integrity of the competition", stated Jay Daugherty, President of ABBI.
Regular season events will feature at least $1,000 added per class and entry fees of $500 (yearling); $600 (2 year old) and $700 (3 year old). A $25 admin fee and $150 production fee ($175 total) will be deducted from each entry. A two year old class with 30 entries, $600 entry fee and $1,000 added will pay 6 places ~ $3,850 1st place and $1,375 6th place! More information and our full website will be available soon!
