I caught Kiwi being extra cute today 😍

She is mostly blind due to neglect before I got her but she can still see to a point. I usually just walk right into the enclosure but today I caught her napping and started talking to her from outside of the enclosure. She was looking around for me visibly confused and I managed to catch the moment she figured out where I was ❤️❤️❤️ So stinking cute I love her so much.

Bad pictures because I just got home from work at like 2am BUT check it out we added onto the quail coop a bit. I couldn't figure out how to put this little cage together so we used the panels for an expansion for the birds to get more sunlight. Fingers crossed this helps them lay some more eggs!

They've got a tiny access door to go into the darker hutch area or out to their "porch" 😂 I might add a second sand bath to the new section im not sure yet. Any toy recommendations for quail? Most of the bird toys have small pieces they might eat and have issues with.

Everybody got some salad. A spring mix base with little to no spinach- 1 bell pepper divided up and some blueberries and vitamin drops.

You can see in the smaller rabbit bowls the one has very little. This is because thats the lone male rabbit and he hasn't been fully introduced to greens yet so you have to start very slow. This prevents GI upset and allows them time to adjust to the greens from a diet of all pellets and hay. So far he has been getting a couple strands of grass a day whereas the girls are used to grass and get a good sized handful now.

My eventual goal is to limit pellet intake and provide a variety of high protein greens from my own garden. I have a comfrey patch going and starting some other beneficial greens and grains as well. Baby steps ✨️

Check out these pretty girls 😍 A magpie named Marbles and a harlequin named Butterscotch.

They are Tamuk meat rabbits. I chose this breed for my homestead because they are known to be heat tolerant of our crazy Florida temperatures. Along with that comes good meat production and naturally friendly temperaments which is very important to me.

These girls will not be food and I fully plan on spoiling them so I am open to all enrichment suggestions! So far we've got very large cages I believe theirs is about 8ft by 3ft. Wire bottoms so they are never sitting in their own waste. Fresh grass everyday along with their normal pellets, hay and water of course. A giant tile to lay on and cool down, various rabbit chew toys, multiple resting mats through the cage and a fresh cardboard box every few days. What am I missing?

Shade cloth down! Banana down, plants down, everything down! Haha we had a tough little rainstorm blow in very suddenly this evening. Aparently it was quite windy! Gonna be such a pain rehanging that shade cloth; some days are better than others over here. I think it can wait until tomorow!
