Twilight Tails Rescue was formed in 2017 to address the needs of senior dogs in need. We now rescue and adopt out all ages and breeds

While Twilight Tails was formed to help seniors, we cannot turn our backs when a younger dog needs help!

Astro is a 4 year old poodle mix- we don't know his parents so that is a guess He was found as a stray and surrendered to us. . His coat is curly and poodle like- Maybe some Bichon?

He is 4 years old and was found as a stray- He is thankfully heartworm negative and weighs in at 18 pounds- He is friendly and active- I'd say medium energy and does well with other dogs.

He's "family friendly" and will do fine in a home with kids and other dogs. He loves the ranch and all of the sights and smells there- He is a sweet guy with lots of love to give

If you are looking for a friendly, gentle, perfectly sized dog- Shelby is your girl

This 9-10 month old border collie, Aussie mix is just delightful. She weighs about 35 pounds and is as sweet as she can be,

She is housebroken and crate trained and is doing well in the house with the other dogs- She gets along with everyone!

She is a bit on the quiet side for a puppy and loves to be petted and walked. She is great on her leash and is smart and inquisitive.

Shelby will make a great family dog-Kids and other dogs are great! She is spayed, heartworm negative and ready for her forever home today! Located near Houston-available for transport

Minka is a sweet 1 to 2 year old boxer mix waiting for a forever home-

Minka was found as a stray- Sadly her finder did not realize she was heavily pregnant and reached out the day she delivered asking for help.

All seven of her babies have been successfully rehomed and now it is her turn.

She is amazingly sweet with everyone- human or canine and was a terrific mom. From day one she allowed us to handle her puppies and while she was protective, this dog does not have a mean bone or resource guarding bone in her body.

She walks well on the leash (with a bit of pulling- but not bad) and is housebroken. She will tolerate a crate, but prefers a human bed as she clearly thinks she is "one of us" She is terrific in the car and is not a barker.

She wil be spayed on August 4th and will be ready for her forever home shortly thereafter.

I know she looks like a lot of dogs out there- What you can't see in a photo is her marvelous affectionate and playful personality- This one is a gem friends!!! Located near Houston and available for transport

This little cutie is Elvis-

He was found as a stray and has been with us for a couple of weeks now-

He is 4-5 years old and is as sweet as he looks- We think he is a schnoodle (poodle/ schnauzer mix) He weighs in at about 10 pounds and is doing really week at the rescue ranch outside of Houston.

He likes to "talk" and maybe even sing a bit- and it just makes him more endearing, He is crate trained and working on his leash skills. Not quite potty trained- but darn close.

He is making friends with the other dogs at the ranch and loves to play with whoever is ready to play with him.

He is affectionate and playful and would do well in a home with kids, dogs and people to love him!!

Hello there!!

I'm Rene- and here's the thing- I'm BLIND and I'm only 2 years old. Guess what We just found out my name was Tony until I was given away in May this week- So now they call me TONY RENE

I'm what they call a Yorkshire terrier- stubby tail and all.

I was with a family for a while- Then they gave me to another family and that family gave me to the nice people at Twilight Tails in Houston.

They gave me away becasue they said I was "nippy" They never mentioned that I was blind and mayne their 3 little kids terrified me.

My foster mom couldn't work out why I was so timid - I barely left my crate for 3 days. Once I figured out the routine around here, I am out and about with all the other dogs. The big ones scare me a little as I weigh 6 pounds- but I do my best to get along with everyone. Note- Foster mom agrees with me- I am NOT nippy at all- Never one single time here with her.

My foster took me to another place where they poked and shined bright lights at me and who knows what else to confirm I was blind- I could have told them if they asked:)

The vet (that's what they call him) thinks it was trauma- that I wasn't born this way- maybe someone dropped me, or dropped something on me- No way to know-

Otherwise and regardess- I AM PERFECT. I'm good in my playpen, or out and about- I potty outside and am neutered and heartworm negative

I want NOTHING more than a lap to sit on and maybe a doggie friend to show me the ropes at my new digs. Im done with little kids though- THANKS for understanding.

JULY 30 all adopted

Cuteness overload- These maltese puppies just turned 6 weeks this past weekend-

They are with an incredible foster who has nutured them since literally day 1!! They will be ready for adoption in about 3 weeks.

3 girls and one boy- Individual posts and photos coming soon- They are active, healthy and well socialized thanks to their great foster- They weigh about 3 pounds

We expect lots of apps on these cuties, so please apply only if you are ready for puppy breath and all that comes with it

We will not adopt to families with small kids under the age of 6 as these puppies are super tiny:) They barely weigh 3 pounds We will give preference to those who are home a good bit each day as well

Our sweet DIno has completed all of his vetting and is ready for his forever home- This adorable terrier mix is about 15 pounds of pure joy-

He has some miles on him at 7 years old- but still has plenty of gas in the tank- he is alert, playful, crate trained- and pretty near fully housebroken-

He does really well with other dogs and will make a fantastic companion. He is affectionate and cuddly and looking for his forever family-

JULY 29 DUNE HAS A PENDING ADOPTER- SHOUL DBE FINALIZED THIS WEEK THANK YOU ALL FOR INQUIRING'

Meet Dune! The 7-8 year old Golden Retriever is sadly an owner surrender-

His family included kids ages 1-5, a husky and a pomeranian. Dune is great with all of them- His family rescued him 8 months ago from a "friend" who asked them to look ater him for a little while as they relocated. A few months turned into 8-then silence and the new family (meant to b short term) felt they did not have the space to keep him permanently.

He is GREAT and gentle with kids of all ages and LOVES to run and play with other dogs. He is housebroken and knows some basic commands. He thinks he's a big lap dog-

He is hearrtworm negative, has all his vaccines and will be neutered this week. He needs a bit of work on the leash - but other than that- this gem of a dog is ready for his forever family.

He did chase one cat- so cats out- but kids and dogs great

He has medium- high energy- Medium inside- high when playing and you'd never know he was 7 or 8 years old

This beauty has lots of years left to play and to fall in love with a new forever family- Hopefully third time is the charm for this deserving boy

Meet spunky little Scottie- This terrier/schnauzer mix was found alongside a dumpster- He was left behind by the people moving along along with boxes of discarded books and clothes- He even had bit of paint on him from rummaging thru the mess sleft behind.

He was saved by a stranger who asked for our help and we said YES!!~

Scottie is 1-2 years old and is an affectionate, enthusiastic and playful little guy- He weighsd abiut 10 pouds, is heartworm negative and has alredy been neutered-

He does well in his crate but prefers the company of his person or one of his canine buddies- He barks at the bigger dogs when they walk by if he is crated- but does nothing but play with them when he is outside.

His energy is medium with spurts of the zoomies. He is doing well with both potty training and leash training- We are not fully there yet- but he is VERY smart and will get it all down soon enough.

If you are looking for a low- no shedder with energy and love to spare- this is your guy- He loves being held and loves knowing he is finally safe!!

Meet Mr "B" Mr B was saved in the knick of time from a busy steet outside of Houston.

He is a catahoula/hound mix and is about 3 years old. His lack of muscle tells us he has been surviving on the street for a long minute.

Despite that, he is friendly, affectionate , good with other dogs, and is just seeking love, attention and groceries. He is crate and potty trained and walks pretty well on the leash. He is VERY gentle and we would describe his energy level as low- medium.

He will be altered next week and needs to gain a bit of body mass before going to his forever home. He could benefit now from a patient foster who could help us fatten him up and help him build confidence now that he knows he is safe-

This boy has been through it- and despite all that- he is kind and friendly and willing to take another chance on man- let's not fail him again

July 31- ADOPTED

BETSY ROSS joined our rescue today- Independence day- This one year old shizhu mix was given as a gift to a young girl who subsequently lost interest in her.

She escaped one day and was on the run for 3 months before being rescued and surrendered to us by the original owner. He told us his daughter was busy with other activites and wanted the dog to have the great home she deserves

She is a tad shy at first, but once she meets you, she is full of love and tail wags- This ltttle sweetie likes to he held and carried around like a baby doll. She does well in her crate, is not a barker and is re- learning her housebreaking skills.

She has a delicious soft coat and a captivating look that just begs you to pick her up and snuggle with her. Her foster will be sharing some bed space with this cutie

She will be spayed in a week or so and ready for adoption mid July

ADOPTED

This little angel is Coquette. Coquette is an 8 month old maltese mix. She was surrendered with 4 outher small dogs and was clearly not being well cared for. Her coat needed to be trimmed up and she has been slowly gaining weight.

She has a VERY calm demeanor and is a bit shy when you first meet her. She does well with men and women alike as well as with other dogs and even cats.

She loves to be held and is the perfect pet for someone who wants to pamper a gentle little princess. She is crate trained and is doing really well with housebreaking

She warms up quickly and has never shown an aggresion at all.

She has been spayed and is UTD on all her vaccines. She is ready for her forever family and will make a great qaddition to any home
