THIS IS WHY WE DO IT!!!!!!

Kenneth update- After almost 2 months with us, look at the transformation

From being literally hours from euthanasia- to this happy thankful boy- our team has worked miracles- Great vets, healthy diet, and a wonderful foster have made this possible.

Kenneth still has a ways to go- but he is well on his way to his new life as a healthy, painfree angel of a dog!!

This adorable dude is Ray Ray- Maybe that's why the photo is repeating lol-

Anyway this solemn looking fellow has been with us for several months- He was very fearful and hesitant around new people- He has always been great with other dogs, including the one he came in with who has since been adopted.

Ray is a terrier mix- weighs about 11 pounds- He is neutered, heartworm negative and UTD on all his vaccines. He is about 2 years old

He is crate and house trained and has done well in a doggie day care setting.

He is still slow to warm to his person, but once he does- he is a lap dog all the way.

Ray needs a patient adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to flourish. No toddlers or super busy homes-

He will be fine in an apartment with one person or as part of a small pack of dogs and humans

Hermes is a sweet, loving 2½-year-old Labrador looking for his forever home. He is vaccinated, house-trained, and incredibly friendly. Hermes is wonderful with children, cats, and other dogs and is a social, affectionate boy who loves being around people.

Due to an unexpected change in his family’s circumstances, his family looking for a loving and stable home where Hermes can be part of the family and receive all the love he deserves. ❤️ 🐶🏡💕

He is smart and wants to please his handler. He is a bit strong on the leash, but overall is wasy to handle and, by the way, STUNNING

This is the "as close to perfect as they come" Miss Anastasia.

I cannot say enough GREAT things about this girl- She is a chiweenie and weighs in at about 20 pounds. We think she is 3 yers old or so She was meant to be surrendered to us along with her puppy- Finder decided to keep the puppy at the last minute- and that was that:(

She is happiest when close to a human. She can sleep in your bed, or on a dog bed or in a crate and not move or make a peep all night. She is fully hosuebroken and terrific on a leash

Her energy level is low to medium, but she can get into some serious play with her foster buddies. She loves to perch on things- back of a couch; top of a pile of laundry, or on this blue chair- a favorite of many at my house. She often asks to be let out after the others have come back in and will chill for a bit on the deck.

She knows her name and has great recall- This girl will fit into any home or apartment. She is truly as good as it get

She has been spayed and fully vetted and is ready for her family. Available locally in Houston and available for transport

Little Balducci, aka Dawson came into the rescue as a stray about 3 weeks ago- How he made it at 9 pounds on the mean streets of Houston, we will never know

He is just under a year old and is simply precious. He was recently neutered and is now fully vetted and ready for his home here in Houston, or for transport

His personality shines with love and affection. He is nearly housebroken and does really well when crated at night. He is a spunky little guy who loves to run zoomies around the yard, or just back and forth from kitchen to living room and back.

He is happiest when being carried and loves to rest his sweet little head on your shoulder.

He will do well in a home with or without other dogs and due to his small size, we prefer a home with chilfren over the age of 6.

Little Twix is a shih tzu mix who came to the rescue this week.

She is a feisty little princess weighing in at
about 12 pounds and winning the hearts of everyone at the ranch

She looks like she recently had pups and we are hoping that she was not dumped once her momma dog chores were completed!!

She still needs to be vetted , but for now we can introduce her and share that she is crate trained, gets along really well with other dogs, appears to be housebroken and has not yet met a stranger

I am CHOCO- cause i am the color of a bar of chocolate.

I was found on a busy street in Houston- I was pretty matted and very scared. I am 2 years old or so

I weigh about 35 pounds and they tell me I m a "DOODLE" hmmmmm not sure about that- but I am sure happy to be safe and off the streets.

I am not quite ready for adoption yet as I am still a bit shy- We are working on socialization and leash training. My fosters at the ranch tell me I'm doing great- I just need a bit of time

Also seems like a pesky mosquito gave me heartworms- but its toitally curable and we are already halfway there- I feel great and love to run and play in the yard. I am a bit cautious with strangers- but getting better every day. I would never bite anyone- I just need to warm up to you.

If you have room in your heart for a sweet shy boy who has had a rough start- I am your guy

Boris is about 4 years old- He was found as a stray and is as sweet as he is cute

He is fully vetted and ready for his forever family- He weighs 15 pounds (don't tell him) and gets along with dogs of all sizes at the rescue ranch.

He was found as a stray here in Houston and is available for transport

I would describe this little guy as joyful, affectionate and fearless. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training- He was well- loved at some time in his life and we are not sure how he ended up on the street.

He loves toys, playing in the kiddie pool and zooming around the yard with his fosters siblings. He will be great in a home with other dogs where he will get lots of attention. He is very portable and will do well taking ride a longs with his people.

Where you see two sweet dogs snuggled comfy on a couch- I see 2 dogs who came to us as surrenders nearly 3 months ago, and until recently, were untouchable. They were owned dogs- and abandoned in their own home.

The one on top- Macy is under a year old and came first- She is the daughter of the other. Macy would not come out of her "cat xized" crate for the better part of three days- When she did- she hid behind the couch- coming out only when no one was there- She would eat a bit and retreat

Her mom- Lilah- (age 2-3) came a couple of weeks later, and was the same- I was unanle to touch either of them- They had free range of my living room where they ate, drank and pottied...... for weeks-

Suddenly one day Lillah let me touch her.... and then pet her.... and even pick her up- I would take her outside and Macy would follow us- They both started to potty outside and after nearly 3 months are both nearly fully housebroken. They also play with all the other dogs. They eat together in a crate with the door open- but otherwisw, they roam the house freely.

Lillah is now fully vetted and ready for a (patient) home as she is still a bit skittish around her head- but she will give kisses and play tug of war and let you rub her belly as she takes treats ever so gently from your hand

She weighs about 11 pounds and is a terrier mix

Macy is not there yet- I can pet her from time to time- If I try too hard she runs off- But she knows her name and comes running when I call- but still keeps her distamce. She will get there!!

Rescue is a lot of things- It is sacrifice, compassion, compassion fatigue:), and oftentimes incrediby rewarding. I am proud of the 3 months we have worked together to allow these pups to shine- to be unafraid and to welcome the world in... albeit at their own pace-

5 DAYS AGO I WAS LIVING IN A CAR WITH NO POWER!!!!

I have no words to describe the gratitude I feel for Estelle Mack and for Moselle Hindle and for all the others who joined together to save 6 dogs and 5 cats from a certain death as they lived with their humans in an un-air- conditioned car.

Cat rescues, dog rescues, fosters, volunteers and donors came together to ensure that all 11 animals AND the human family of 3 were safe and cool and fed.

This princess, photographed by Tom England, is Coco Chanel. Moselle is her foster- She is 8 months old and is a chocolate lab mix- She was spayed today and got all of her vaccines- She is heartworm negative and on prevention.

By all accounts she is sweet and friendly and great with both dogs and cats. Moselle is working with her on leash training and potty training- but she is smart and wants to please

More details about her soon. She will be available for adoption locally in Houston, or for transport in 2-3 weeks.

What a difference a few days and a few huge hearts can make
