Uh oh, the incubator is running again and there's 2 different species in there, hopefully growing wildly. This is the only batch I'm doing for now. I need more female quail since a wild animal tore into the barn a couple months back. And I figure nows a good enough time to grow more birds for meat and get some small birds again for roasting and frying.

They get free time outside of the yard bc they are well behaved.

Well Ive gone and made the potatoes cakes/balls. They are decent but I did go shopping for some baking tips to complete this project proportionately.
Beside that you'll see some chicken patties I also went and trialed with. Of course I was using my own chicken to do this so I grabbed a less tender bird and threw it all in the blender wrapped a few up in celery and the rest in onion and pepper. These I enjoyed!

PVC gate, very easy to build, TSC has the carriage bolts and nut attached to the hinge for tightening down. Also they have the replacement bolts and nut directly behind you in case of an emergency fix. Happy homesteading.

Almost hit up my 100th chicken that I've butchered for the past few yrs. I've found secrets and ways of doing things along the yrs and have done well, right down to becoming a decent chef with my own butchered products. my meat has even traveled with me on vacations now....it's a big deal when your growing your own food.

That wire and zip tie method hasn't done me wrong yet...here is Hei Hei and family in the middle of their move.
