Dear Members and Friends of the ACKCSC,

We’re excited to share some important news from the ACKCSC Health Alliance, announced during our annual meeting in Hyannis. The Alliance has officially launched its very first project — and they’ve asked us to help spread the word!

Starting April 15 through June 15, the Health Alliance will be conducting a comprehensive health survey designed to gather valuable data from breeders, performance and companion dog exhibitors, and pet owners. The goal is to better understand the health of Cavaliers — with a particular interest in older dogs (even if your oldest is still just a puppy!).

This anonymous survey invites you to share information on up to five Cavaliers who lived in your household during 2024, whether they are currently living or have passed. Please start with your oldest dog and continue in order of descending age.

The findings from this survey will provide a snapshot of current breed health and help guide future initiatives. A preliminary analysis will be shared later this year during a webinar in the third or fourth quarter.

Your participation is vital to the success of this project. It will only take about 5 minutes per dog to fill out this survey. By contributing, you’re helping shape the future of Cavalier health research and care.

To complete the survey, please visit: https://ackcsc.org/health/ackcsc-health-alliance-survey/

Thank you for supporting the health and well-being of our beloved breed!

Adopted! 🏠

Beau in Dallas, TX

Meet Beau, an adorable 8 year old Blenheim boy with the friendliest personality and the cutest little teddy bear face. Beau’s heart is overflowing with love, and he’s eager to share it with a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days.

Beau came into rescue due to his elderly owner no longer being able to provide for his needs. He is affectionate and loyal, wanting to stay close by your side throughout the day. He will even try to get in the shower with you if you will allow it! Beau is energetic for his age and enjoys going on walks, playing with balls, and being outdoors in the fenced yard where he can sniff to his heart’s content. When you’re ready to settle in for some relaxing moments, Beau is right there beside you, taking his place on the arm of the couch or the recliner.

In great health, Beau is up to date on all his vaccinations, recently had a dental cleaning and a minor soft palate surgery to help his breathing. Beau is also microchipped. He is fully potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door whenever necessary. He will also bark at the back door if he decides he’d rather use the “big door” for yard access.
