It’s Dog Bite Prevention Week!

At Tippy Taps Animal Rescue, we’re all about building safer, more compassionate communities for both dogs and humans.

Did you know:
• Over 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year in the U.S.
• Most bites are preventable with education and awareness.
• Many bites happen to children and often involve a dog they know.

Here’s how we can all help:
1. Respect a dog’s space—especially when they’re eating or sleeping
2. Learn canine body language: growling, yawning, or a tucked tail = back off
3. Always supervise kids around dogs
4. Never approach a dog without the owner’s OK
5. Practice kind, consistent training and socialization

Meet Iris. 🌻💜

If you’re looking for a ball of joy, Iris is your gal. Miss Iris had a rough start to life and she’s ready to make up for it with her energetic and vocal excitement for life. Iris was found alone in a bush suffering at just a few weeks old. After endless love and TLC from her foster mom Iris is ready to find a family of her own. ❣️

Iris plays hard and is a brave girl. 🐱 She is fostered with adult cats, but they prefer their space. She approaches other cats ready to play but respects their boundaries when they are not. Her favorite toys are anything with feathers and dangle toys that she can play together with you. She does not like being alone, so Iris is looking for a family or someone who works from home eager to spoil her. Due to her quick zooms and affectionate weaving around your legs we do not suggest Iris to a home with elderly family members.

‼️ Special needs considerations‼️
Iris has been diagnosed with feline herpes. This happens when kittens are exposed to illnesses before they’re old enough to be vaccinated. There is no cure for feline herpes, only symptom management. Iris will thrive with managed stress levels, tons of love, and a family to monitor potential symptoms like runny watery eyes. Adopters must be willing to manage symptoms with regular vet visits and be willing to provide antivirals (~$30 a course) during symptom flares. If properly managed Iris could be without flares for years.

Meet Jodi!
Jodi is a 5-month-old shepherd mix and the sweetest, smartest girl!

She is incredibly intelligent and eager to please. She can be trained to do just about anything. In her foster home, they’ve never heard her bark! She will cry briefly in her kennel but quickly settles down. She is mostly potty trained and picking up new skills fast.

Jodi is friendly with everyone she meets. Men, women, children, and even babies. She adores other animals, including the cat in her foster home, and is respectful when told to give space. With her low prey drive, she would make an excellent ranch dog. She has great recall, loves to follow her people, and is happiest when she’s by their side.

She loves toys, water, and mud, and she’s always up for an adventure! Jodi rides well in the car and is learning not to pull on the leash. But at the end of the day, she’s a big-time cuddler who just wants to snuggle up with her favorite people.

Jodi is as close to perfect as a puppy gets and would be an amazing addition to an active family!

She is completely vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed & ready for her forever family!

🚨 NEW TIPPY TAPS ADOPTABLE ALERT 🚨

This is Mocha.

She is approximately 1 years old and the sweetest girl alive! She was found in Merced, CA, wandering a vacant area and was very neglected. She was dirty and sticky and needed lots of TLC. Mocha was microchipped but her microchip was not properly registered and no owners came forward.

She is in a foster home and on her way to being fully vetted so she can be adopted.

We've discovered she is an extremely playful girl! She does well with other dogs! She is great with kids and her fosters and is working on household training! She is extremely smart!

Fluffy, now Desi, has been adopted! 🥳🎉

We are SO excited to share that Desi has been adopted and is officially off to start her new life! This sweet, smart girl is leaving Fresno behind and heading toward the Bay Area, where her wonderful new family is waiting for her with a cat friend she’ll get to play and grow up with!

From being abandoned in a box with nothing but a bag of food and p*e pads to finding a family who already adores her, Desi journey is nothing short of amazing. She’s got big adventures ahead, and we can’t wait to see her thrive in her new home full of love, cuddles, and so many new memories.

Happy tails, Desi! You’ll always have a piece of our hearts.🐾🥳🐶

Meet Mango!

This lovable, playful boy is looking for his forever home! Mango is almost 2 years old and full of personality. He was surrendered to Tippy Taps due to a new family member having severe allergies, and now he’s ready to find a family to call his own!
Mango has been an only cat and indoor cat his whole life, but he’s proven to be friendly with other cats and well-behaved dogs. He’s very vocal, loves to play, and is a total cuddle bug when it’s time to relax. Plus, he’s a pro at using the litter box!

He loves his cat tree and to play in boxes! Feather toys are his favorite!

Meet Fluffy! 🐾

This Shepherd mix is as smart as she is sweet. She was found abandoned in a box with her sister, left with nothing but a bag of dog food, a water dish, and p*e pads. But her rough start is behind her, and she’s ready to find her forever home!

Fluffy is affectionate, gentle, and incredibly trainable. She does well with cats, is patient with kids, and loves to cuddle. She’s also a quick learner and eager to please! With her thick coat and big paws, she’s going to grow into a large dog who will need plenty of space to roam and play.

Fluffy LOVES water... like, really loves it! She is always up for a good soak. She even gets the water zoomies! She’d make an amazing camping, boating, or adventure buddy for someone who loves the outdoors as much as she does.

She’s on her way to being fully vaccinated and spayed (03/02), and once ready, she’ll officially be available for adoption.

This sassy, spunky, and girl is still waiting for her forever home! Roo is approximately 3.5 months old, believed to be a Shar-Pei, Terrier, and Pit mix, and we estimate she’ll stay around 30 lbs or less—the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike.

Iris Update😻🌸

Sweet little Iris has come so far, but she’s still fighting to fully heal. She should be showing more improvement by now, so our vet recommended lab tests to figure out exactly what’s holding her back. With a better diagnosis, we can give her the most targeted treatment to finally beat this.

She’s still coughing, and her lingering infection is slowing the healing of her skin. For now, her vet wants to stick with topical treatment instead of oral antifungals, but she needs some TLC before we can fully thrive!

Iris is so close to blooming, and we won’t give up on her. Shes come a long way from the crusted eyes and awful pneumonia.

Her last vet bill costed $220! But it is worth it to see Iris start getting better!

🚨Fresno Area Foster’s Needed ASAP🚨

A rescue effort brought two female puppies to safety after they were found discarded on the side of the road near Belmont and Sunnyside this morning. We have an opportunity to provide them with a nurturing environment during the stray hold period. Your compassion and support can be a transformative force in their lives. Although they aren’t microchipped, a found report has been filed with FAC. By opening your heart and home, you can make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of these adorable puppies.

🐾 Meet Roo! 🐾

This sweet little queen is ready to steal your heart! Roo is around 12-14weeks. She was found wandering aimlessly around a busy intersection in Fresno all alone. There were no other pups or a mama dog around. Just her.

She is a friendly, loving pup who fits right in with dogs, cats, and even farm animal! If you’ve been dreaming of a farm buddy or a snuggly best friend, Roo is your girl.

Don’t be fooled by her adorable yawns—she’s got the perfect balance of play and rest! She absolutely loves her naps, but when the sun rises, so does Roo! She’ll be your 6 AM wake-up call, ready to start the day with you (and maybe sneak in a little playtime before breakfast).

Her favorite thing? Following you around in the morning like your tiny, four-legged shadow. She’s also getting comfy in her crate, proving just how smart and adaptable she is!
