Look at Moose.

Look at that face. That happy, goofy, completely trusting puppy who has absolutely no idea that nobody has chosen him yet.

Moose and his siblings were found abandoned in a box when they were only about two weeks old.

At three weeks old, Moose and his sister came into our rescue when they began showing parvo-like symptoms. Thankfully, it wasn’t parvo. They were dealing with some GI issues, but with care and treatment, they got better quickly.

And from that point on, Moose has known nothing but love.

He has been safe. He has been cuddled. He has been spoiled. He has been someone’s baby.

His sister has since been adopted into the most amazing home.

But Moose is still waiting.

He’s now 5 months old and 45 pounds, and somehow this beautiful boy still doesn’t have a family of his own.

We took him to an adoption event today, and he was surrounded by people, dogs and cats. There was so much happening around him.

And Moose was just… Moose.

Calm. Quiet. Happy. Curious.

He didn’t need to be the center of attention. He wasn’t overwhelmed. He wasn’t causing a scene.

He just watched everything happening around him.

And when he looked at people, I couldn’t help but wonder if he thought, “Is that my person?”

Because Moose doesn’t know he’s being overlooked.

He doesn’t know that his sister found her forever family.

He doesn’t know that his forever home hasn’t found him yet.

He just knows people are around, and he trusts them.

That’s what gets me about Moose.

He’s this enormous, gentle baby with giant paws, a giant heart and absolutely no idea how big he’s going to be. 😂

There is nothing wrong with him.

He’s sweet. He’s gentle. He’s calm. He’s happy. He’s good with people, dogs and cats. And he has been loved since the day he came into our rescue.

I just don’t understand how this boy is still waiting.

Somewhere out there is someone who is going to look at Moose and say, “Yep. That’s my dog.”

Please share Moose. Maybe his person is right here on your friends list. ❤️

We wish we could say Lily’s story ended with a happy adoption update but unfortunately, it didn’t. 💔🫩

Back in April, Lily was adopted into what seemed like a wonderful home in the San Diego area. About 10 weeks later, we received a call from her adopters sharing three unexpected concerns:

1. Lily had been diagnosed with cancer.
2. There were 2 rocks in her stomach.
3. She had snapped at the child in the home.

This was especially difficult to hear after being told repeatedly that Lily had been “the best dog ever.” Ultimately, the adopters decided to surrender her due to concerns about her ONE interaction with their young son. 😓

For context, Lily has never had previous concerns around children. During the 9 months she spent with her foster family, she had no behavioral issues and lived successfully with other animals. The only recommendation ever noted was to take introductions to larger dogs slowly so she could feel comfortable.

We asked for more information about her medical findings. Lily was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, and during imaging to determine whether the cancer had spread, X-rays revealed rocks in her stomach. At this point, no one knows how they got there. Even more surprising, Lily had shown no signs or symptoms of an obstruction.

Given everything happening, the adopters wanted to surrender her and asked for her to leave the home as soon as possible. So naturally, our team got in the car and made the trip to San Diego to bring our girl home.

When our team arrived to pick Lily up, the adopter was adamant that she should not be in a home with cats, dogs, and/or children due to behavioral issues. 🤨

Since returning home, Lily has settled right back into her foster home and is living comfortably with cats, dogs, and children without issue. 🤩🐾

Now our focus shifts to what matters most: getting Lily healthy.

We have received an estimate for surgery to remove the rocks from her stomach, and the procedure is expected to cost around $1,000, not including continued diagnostics and later treatment planning for her mast cell tumor.

Ranger is a 6-month-old mixed breed puppy (our best guess is terrier mix!) currently looking for his forever home!

Ranger currently weighs about 20 pounds and is expected to stay a nice medium size (likely under 40 pounds full grown). He’s the perfect in-between for someone who doesn’t want a tiny lap dog but also doesn’t have space for a large breed.

Like most puppies, Ranger enjoys the occasional zoomies and loves games of chase and tug-of-war, but overall he’s a pretty mellow little guy. He’s content entertaining himself with squeaky toys and ropes when you’re busy, but the second you sit down, he’s quick to curl up beside you ... or directly in your lap! He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and has been doing great settling into a routine.

Ranger gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has done great around chickens. He hasn’t been cat tested, but based on how respectful he is with other animals, he may do well with curious cats . He also does well with respectful kiddos and takes treats very gently.

He’s still learning the doggy door and continuing to work on potty training, but he’s been doing well when let out consistently.

Ranger is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find a home of his own.

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion with just the right amount of puppy energy, Ranger may be your match.

You can apply to adopt Ranger at tippytapsrescue.com.

It feels like just yesterday Moose and Cadence were tiny puppies who needed around-the-clock care, bottle feedings, and a lot of help to grow strong. So many of you have followed their journey, celebrated every milestone, and watched them transform into the beautiful, healthy pups they are today.

Now they’re ready for another important step: their spay and neuter surgeries.

Before these sweet babies can move on to the next chapter of their lives, we need your help. As a rescue, every medical expense comes directly from donations and the kindness of people who believe every dog deserves a chance.

Would you consider sponsoring Moose, Cadence, or a portion of their surgery costs?

No donation is too small. Every dollar helps ensure these puppies receive the care they need and brings them one step closer to the loving forever homes they deserve.

Rescue truly takes a village. Moose and Cadence are here today because people chose to care, to give, and to help. If you’re able to contribute, we would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for loving these puppies as much as we do. ❤️

With weather heating up our cases of ringworm are increasing. Ringworm is a contagious zoonotic fungal infection that is not uncommon in cats. Textbook symptoms include crusty rashes, beginning on ears, faces, feet or tails. Treatment starts with maintaining the spread and quarantining affected cats. Topical treatments are provided daily, for weeks, while the environment is throughly cleaned to reduce spore contamination.

This sweet girl has been tolerant of her topical treatments but is beginning over groom. To improve her QOL and lose the cone we are starting oral medications to support her healing. Help us cover her bill to fight the fungus and free her from quarantine! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Happy National Dog Rescue Day!

Today, we celebrate the dogs who were abandoned, overlooked, discarded, abused, forgotten… and still chose love anyway. ❤️

National Dog Rescue Day means so much to us at Tippy Taps Animal Rescue because every rescue story starts with someone saying, “They matter.”

Thank you to every adopter, foster, volunteer, donor, transporter, supporter, advocate, and cheerleader who helps us continue this mission. Whether you’ve opened your home, shared a post, donated supplies, or simply rooted for our babies from afar, you are part of every life saved.

Rescue is not always easy. It can be heartbreaking, exhausting, and emotional. But then there are moments like the first tail wag, the first peaceful sleep, the first time a scared dog realizes they are finally safe… and suddenly it’s all worth it.

To all of the rescue dogs out there, especially the ones still waiting for their forever family: we see you, we love you, and we will keep fighting for you.

Thank you for supporting Tippy Taps Animal Rescue and helping us give these amazing dogs the lives they deserve. 🐾❤️

Meet the newest Tippy Taps chaos coordinators. 😅🐾

Cadence and Moose are 7-week-old professional troublemakers with zero respect for personal space, bedtime, or basic household rules. They run exclusively on zoomies, snacks, and bad decisions.

Current crimes include:
• Attacking pant legs
• Wrestling each other nonstop
• Acting absolutely starving 14 seconds after eating
• Weaponized cuteness to avoid accountability

But behind all the chaos are two incredibly loved, sweet babies. These pups came to us at just 3 weeks old and have been raised with constant love, care, cuddles, full bellies, and spoiled puppy attention ever since. They only know kindness, comfort, and being treated like family. ❤️

They will be fully vetted and ready for adoption soon. Based on their age, size, and giant puppy paws, we expect them to grow into large breed dogs, likely somewhere around 60-90 pounds full grown.

Because they are going to be big, strong dogs, training will be extremely important. We are looking for families committed to continuing their socialization, structure, and training so they grow into amazing adult dogs.

While they absolutely adore each other, we will not be adopting them out together due to the potential for littermate syndrome. However, they have been raised in a home with adult dogs and interact wonderfully with them. They are social, affectionate, confident little babies who love both people and other dogs.

We are looking for families who will continue giving them the same love, guidance, and sense of family they’ve had since the day they came into rescue. 🐾
