Behold this captivating captive-bred White-eyed Crocodile Skink. They're semi-aquatic and feed on various invertebrates. This species originates from Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, commonly imported, but captive-bred with limited numbers in the US. Visit us and to see if this beauty is a good fit for your home.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, John Shafer. He was not just the proud owner of Whitie’s Pets but also a passionate drummer, and an incredible father, grandfather, and friend to so many.

Our dad poured his heart and soul into making Whitie’s Pets a cornerstone of the Fresno community. His love for animals and people made the store what it is today - a place where pets and their families are truly cherished.

Beyond the store, Dad’s passion for music filled our lives with rhythm and joy. He was a “musician’s musician,” performing with local bands and sharing his talent with the world. Whether behind the drum set or enjoying a show, his energy and love for the arts were undeniable.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, fellow musicians, and customers who knew Dad as more than just a business owner or a drummer but as a kind soul who treated everyone like family.

Thank you for being part of his journey. Your memories, stories, and kind words mean the world to us during this time.

It's an honor to recognize Sue on International Woman's day. Don and Sue worked hard, side by side with their little family to build the pet super store we have today. At 99 years old she doesn't have the opportunity to visit the store as she used to, but she is in our hearts each and every day. If you've had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Grammy Sue, as all the "kids" at the shop call her, you know love, kindness and hugs like no other. Here's to you Sue, the orignal Boss Lady.
