These are the very best Cheese updates I could have ever asked for. She hit the absolute jackpot. I’ll admit, the message actually had me in tears. I’m just so proud of this little filly and her amazing personality. Moments like these make all of the crazy, tiring, frustrating, hard work that goes into these horses worth it.

We’re officially haltered!
I have to admit that this didn’t go as smoothly as I had planned, and it was my fault. She handled the halter relatively well, but I went ahead and clipped a lead rope on her once I got her haltered… and she panicked completely. It was one of those moments where I thought “I should have stopped while I was ahead and ended on a good note. I pushed her too far.” Luckily she’s a pretty forgiving girl and this picture was taken after she calmed down, I removed the lead rope, and we worked through it. Shortly after, she let me walk up and untie her halter with almost no fuss at all.
I’ll post a video later of the whole process, but I sure am proud of this girl.

Cheese is settled in at her new home!
This little girl lucked out. She has two new sisters and a HUGE, lush pasture to run and play in. I can’t wait to get updates on her and see how they progress together.

Today is the day. It’s bittersweet, but Cheese is headed to her new forever home.
