Washington Parish Sheriff in Search of Donations, Dog and Cat Food
Thank you for your generous donations during our previous initiative. It is because of you all we have been able to disperse this feed to animals in need.
As the number of strays in Washington Parish continues to rise, the Parish Sheriff is kindly asking for donations of cat and dog food.
Our deputies use the feed daily, transporting it to animals living with families in need and in the handling of strays. In doing so, we aim to prevent dumping or starvation and minimize the number of strays in an already crowded shelter.
Depending on the situation, many of these animals may have a large appetite and need full, balanced meals to maintain their health and well-being. To be able to provide these meals, we are asking for donations of dog and cat food from the public and local businesses.
Any donations will be accepted, and we are asking that they be dropped off at the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office in Bogalusa or Franklinton. Dry food, wet food, canned, bagged, recently expired—our animals aren’t picky eaters, and we will graciously accept anything that you are willing to donate.
Thanks again for your help as we work hard to ensure the safety of animals and the public.
