It's been a busy couple weeks with our E litter heading to their new homes! Canyon and Cooper produced some very nice puppies. We had a few of the puppies already pointing tweety birds in the yard! They'll be hunting birds in no time!

I'm holding left in photo, Riffle (now Ravine) will be a new breeding prospect at our kennel! And on the right is Brookie (now Sadie) will be staying with us for two months of training before heading to her home in Michigan.

The rest of the litter went..

Jig (now Hank) is staying local in PA!
Wader (now Cedar) is right next door in Ohio
Cascade (now Heidi) is now in Rhode Island
Mayfly (now Woolly) is now in Vermont
Trout (kept the name Trout!) Is in Maryland

Down to the water the the E litter goes! Early water introduction is important. Some take longer than others but we had everyone get their toes wet! The best thing is to make it a positive experience and let them go in on their terms.

IntCH/NaCH Fuglejaeger Dixon "Jax"

The sire of our upcoming planned breeding with Nikki, Buckwood's Brush Dale Vanishing Act. Jax is an accomplished hunter who hunts various wild birds every year. He also received a Prize 1 Utility Test score 201 at only 1 year 10 months old. Very impressive for a young Small Munsterlander! This breeding is planned for mid-June. We are looking forward to what Nikki and Jax produce!

Nikki ran the NAVHDA Gun Dog Test today and received a Prize 1, score 165. Good job, Nikki!!

I am very proud of what she accomplished in training in a short time. She is on her way to Utility work and we will continue training to get her to that level. One judge said that, Nikki has the nicest point they have ever seen from a Small Munsterlander. Very intense and solid on point.

Well on to motherhood for Nikki! She started her heat right before we ran in the field... so the judges had us run last today. In a couple weeks she will be bred!

Puppies from our E litter were out exploring the yard in individual sessions. And we had our first bird introduction!

All the puppies did great and loved to check out everything in the yard. Doing individual sessions allows me to see each puppy's temperament outside of the safety of their litter. I like to do multiple sessions in different areas to help place puppies with their new families.

Our E Litter is 4 weeks old today!

Time is flying by! These puppies are very interested in their environment. They are always checking out new things and are very playful. The puppies have started weaning last week and will be fully weaned by the end of this week.

Happy 3rd Birthday Nikki!

Nikki is running her NAVHDA Utility Test at the beginning of June. And she will be having her first litter this summer.

Weekend well spent at the annual Small Munsterlander Club of America conference. There were many training opportunities for everyone and lots of great dogs. Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting this event together.

Our dogs participated in the bird derby and conformation. Nikki got 2nd place in the junior class of the bird derby and 4th place in the AKC conformation show, Quest got 2nd place in the puppy class of the bird derby, and Denver passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Great weekend for the Buckwood girls!
