Is Dawn dish soap safe for dogs?(controversial)

Here’s some dawn dish soap knowledge when it comes to your best friends coat.

1. Dawn should only be used in special cases. It’s strips the coat AND skin of all oils. This may come in handy if your dog is apart of an oil spill situation but not much else. It can be used if your dog is having some allergy issues to essentially “press the reset button” on your dogs skin and coat but should only be done at a vets recommendation. It also may be used when there are fleas present to kill them and keep eggs from sticking on the coat but there are better alternatives.

2. Dawn does not have the correct PH for your dog which is why it is important to use products specifically for dogs. The manufacturers of Dawn dish soap do not recommend using their soap for washing dogs.

3. There are at least 2 CHEMICALS in Dawn soap that cause cancer in dogs.

4. Continued use of Dawn dish soap as a shampoo replacement for your best friend can lead to skin irritation, dry skin, skin infections, dull brittle coat, soap poisoning if ingested.

Experts and veterinarians advise against the use of dish soap!
