Area horse friends! We are trying to collect a few items in just two days!

As many of you know, the barn I grew up riding in in Florida was struck hard by Helene. It destroyed their barn and dropped a roof on their herd of goats, and none survived. 😭 Their tack room was destroyed so they are still rebuilding their inventory.

They have continued undaunted with their riding and showing program. Without the barn, they set up open air feeding pens to separate the horses at meals that need to be separated, using money from the GoFundMe some of you gave to.

Sadly one of their precious lesson horses passed away on July 4 from an apparent perforation following a scope. It’s been a hard 9 months, but they have carried on.

They have a need for a few items, and my instructor is actually in the area for a couple days (first I have seen her and her husband in years!!), so I had an idea if we could bless their little 501c3 riding school and 4-H kids and send some things back with them. We had some things recently donated here I will be passing along, but here are some additional wish list items:

1. They need some larger bridles - full horse and draft size. They do eventing so brown or black is fine.

2. Basic grooming supplies. Somehow brushes, curries and hoof picks walk away when there are a plethora of lesson kids

3. Fly spray. It’s Florida. 🤷🏻‍♀️

4. A horse they can use for lessons. It’s ok if it’s green - they have some good older riders to train or tune up, but must not be nasty or mean or have vices. They do beginning and intermediate eventing so some jumping potential is ideal. As a non-profit they can take donated horses and present receipt for tax write off.

Anything else you might have lying around that could bless a little riding barn with show kids?

**Cindy is leaving the area Monday so if you have anything and can drop it by our barn tomorrow or Sunday morning, we will get it to her Sunday afternoon. ** Thank you!!
