ATTENTION, ATTENTION!! BP Training and Diamond Pet CPR Training have combined forces and created The Frontline Coalition. This change allows us to offer new and improved in person and online classes. The BIGGEST change is we are officially a training center with ASHI and certified with American Heart Association to offer human cpr and first aid training, along with Pet Tech certified to offer Pet CPR & First Aid classes and instructor certification classes. We will also be offering wellness topics, such as pet nutrition, reiki, pemf sessions, emergency preparedness and more. You likely have a first aid kit in the house for your family, why not add a few pet essentials to the tools? These include non-stick bandages, Milk of Magnesia, tweezers and a magnifying glass.

It's summertime and the pavement is hot -- as much as 60 degrees warmer than the air temperature. If you can't hold your hand on the pavement for 7-10 seconds without discomfort, it's too hot for your dog's feet. Find a grass or dirt-covered area to exercise instead, or invest in some dog booties if you can't avoid walking on pavement.

Is it cracked, splintered or ragged? It might be time to throw it away. Toys that have seen better days may be a sentimental favorite, but they're also a choking hazard. Be sure to inspect your dog's toys regularly. For safety's sake, when in doubt, throw it out!

According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of that number, 670,000 are reunited with their owners, 1.6 are adopted and the rest, unfortunately, are euthanized. Those of us who have adopted a shelter pet know what value they bring to our lives -- comfort, security, and friendship, to name a few. And so today, we happily celebrate National Rescue Dog Day!
