Iโve been silent on this page, I apologize. I have been dealing with a lot of physical and mental pain due to the accident. BUT today is bringing me so much joy and I wanted to pop on and share it with you all.
The miraculous Maevis. If youโre new here, miss Maevis is our recip mare that is carrying my โDaphneโ Nine Oh Nonstop x AINT SEEN NOTHIN YET miracle baby. I lost Daphne (and our stallion Kirks Last Straw) in a horrific accident March 7, 2025.
My vet was able to harvest Daphneโs ovaries post mortem and ship them to CSU. The team there was able to aspirate, gosh I canโt even remember how many oocytes, it was a smaller number.. anyways, out of that aspiration a few were injected with semen through the ICSI process, and eventually one matured into a healthy embryo!
Our wonderful mama mare Maevis is due, wait for it.. FEBRUARY 14th VALENTINES DAY๐๐ฑ she has been bagged up a few weeks and is now starting to โdrop.โ We are in the tundra of the North Dakota prairie so I made the decision to send her to a vet facility to foal out. We are en route to the vet now for drop off.
Iโll update everyone as she progresses. For now, keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe and easy delivery. When that will happenโฆ.?
Well, she is a maiden mare so could be tomorrow, it could be by Christmas? Let the waiting game begin!
โ๐ผ๐ซถ๐ผ Stay safe.
Stay Angus Strong.
