Truth time: Behaviors like this don’t go away by avoiding triggers or tossing hot dogs on the floor.

If you want a dog that can calmly navigate the real world, dog training requires three things:

1 Understand the psyche of the dog. Understand how they think and what is important to them.
2 Correct and interrupt the behaviors you dislike.
3 Heavily reward the behaviors you do like.

Clear boundaries + clear rewards = a confident, relaxed dog. It’s not magic, it’s just putting in the work.

Stop asking “why won’t my dog listen?” and start asking “what does my dog need?” Let them run, let them sniff, let them play. The bond you build out there is the foundation for everything else.

Life lately. 📸👇

It still genuinely blows my mind that training dogs and producing content is my full-time job. I used to think entrepreneurs were just being facetious when they talked about working way more hours than they ever did in their corporate 9-to-5s. Spoiler alert: it’s 100% true. The hours are long, the grind never really stops, but building this life is worth every second.

This summer is already gearing up to be incredibly busy, and the momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

On the home front, the newest pup, Tetris, is settling in so well. Our adventures and “micro adventures” have been life giving.

This summer is already gearing up to be incredibly busy, and the momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

On the home front, the newest pack member, Tetris, is settling in so well. Getting hands-on and starting her training and going on daily adventures has been life giving.

Which brings me to a question to ask yourself as a dog parent today:

Here’s the reality: a board and train isn’t a magic wand.

We have to stop treating board and trains as a “drop-off fix” and start treating them as handler education programs. You can build all the drive and dial in the communication perfectly while the dog is with you, but if we don’t teach the owners the mechanics, we’re doing the dog a disservice. The real test of our work isn’t how the dog performs for us, but how the dog performs for their family when we aren’t around.

My job goes from training the dog to coaching her people. The goal is to make sure her owners have the right handler mechanics and the confidence to apply this stuff in their every day life.

Welcome to the family, Zueri. We’re in your corner for good. 👊

As a full-time trainer, and a dog dad managing my own pack/family, I don’t time or resources for products that I can’t rely on. There are a lot of products on the market right now and to be perfectly honest, a lot of them are just bad. Part of my journey on this page is going to be cutting through some of that to show you guys the products I actually rely on every single day.

What’s the one piece of training gear you refuse to compromise on? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

Are your daily neighborhood walks actually making your dog MORE stressed? 🤯🐾

If your walks feel like a constant battle of pulling, reacting, or managing chaos, it’s time to change the scenery.

As a trainer, I constantly remind families that our pet dogs aren’t robots. They don’t need to be in a strict, structured heel 100% of the time. Sometimes, they just need to be a dog.

Enter the Decompression Walk. 🌲
This is where we trade the busy sidewalks and short leashes for nature, a comfortable harness, and pure canine fulfillment.

Here is why your family dog desperately needs this in their routine:

📉 Lowers cortisol (stress): A quiet trail is the perfect reset after a chaotic week in a busy household.
🧠 Brain drain: Sniffing is working! Letting them follow their nose tires them out mentally.
🤝 Silent communication: Moving together as a team builds a deeper, trusting bond without you having to constantly bark commands.
🧬 Pure fulfillment: It satisfies their natural genetic drive to roam and explore at their own pace.
Next time you head out, skip the neighborhood loop. Find a quiet trail, let them lead the way, and watch how much calmer they are when you get back to the living room. 🛋️

📌 SAVE this post as a reminder for your weekend walk, and let me know below: Have you tried a decompression walk with your dog yet? 👇

Tag a dog owner who needs this reminder!

Here’s an honest moment, I leaped into training dogs full time in July of 2025. I had just gotten let go from a job I loved, my wife was pregnant with our kiddo, and I was in a space of figuring out what I wanted to do. Fast forward and now I get to train dogs for a living and make content for dog owners. Thank you for following me on this journey!

We officially hit 10K! 🚀 I just wanted to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU. Your encouragement, support, and engagement keep me going. Building this community of dedicated dog owners has been an incredible ride, and we’re just getting started.

Cheers to 10,000 of you.
